The old Jerry that didn't hesitate to make a big move, not this Jerry that listens to Stephen and whomever else gets to him to make him think at the last minute. I realize that age is also an issue. Please give your thoughts, old Jerry we miss you!! Think of the talent we could have assembled if we had the old Jerry, or even someone Jerry put in place to do the things he USED to do!!
what old Jerry? after johnson left, Jerry was motivated by one thing, to feed his ego, which was to win a championship to prove he didn't need johnson. he did that and then he thought, heck I can do this and there was the campo years. he wanted a big stadium, money, publicity, etc. and he brought in parcells, once stadium got approved his meddling started. subsequently with the new stadium his only focus has been money making.

there is no old jerry.

I mean.........kind of........yeah. Let's face it, his moves back then were questionable, but at least things were exciting. They actually went after FA agents (remember the bidding war for Nnamdi Asomugha?) and he was at least out there wheeling-and-dealing, even if they were very questionable deals (Galloway). I remember how hyped the fanbase was on the Roy William (WR) trade. The thought of having Williams, TO, and Witten out there was exciting. Nothing really worked out, but at least it was interesting.

Now? It sucks all around. It's boring. Jerry is way too cheap to spend on FA, he spends big in all the wrong places, and the trades are in the 5th round categories now. Since this team can't ever seem to get over the hump, at least it was fun to watch back then.

So, yeah, in a way, I do miss the old Jerry.

Get used to it. Stephen is basically running the team so, not much will change when Jerry is gone.

The one that hired Jimmy and stayed the hades out of football operations? Immensely.

It's like missing the version of your buddy when he drank. Sure he was funnier, but he'd puke on your couch. How would you feel with picks like Johnny Manziel or Paxton Lynch?

I miss him and thise days, because we didn't have a certain zoner starting threads and asking for our thoughts every 10 minutes.....just stirring the pot and adding spices over and over again. Probably, sitting back and enjoying a good laugh at all the bickering that je is causing.
Obsession noted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jerry and the FO went from being overly aggressive in the late 90's/00's, to being maddeningly conservative.

Only two explanations make sense:

1. Incompetence
2. They care more about money

I don't care which one it is, but the FO sucks.
Incompetence, absolutely. They were extremely incompetent in trading up for MO and signing Carr to huge money. Ask Jerry, he still does not have a clue as to why those two didn't work out. His personnel evaluation skills are horrific, worst I've ever seen in a GM.

No, the man has been a walking bumbling narcissistic disaster since he forced Jimmy out. Sure he made some big dumb trades like 2 firsts for Galloway, 1st and 3rd for WR Roy Williams, Trading 1st and 2nd round picks to move up for Claiborne.
Bypassing Randy Moss in order to take Greg Ellis.
Hiring Chan Gailey and the replacing him with Campo. Hiring boy wonder Garrett to be the heir apparent to retread Wade.

No, I dont and wont miss Jerry

I don't miss the Jerry who paid a damaged Romo a huge contract and repeated the same lame mistake with a damaged Dak.
How old do we need to go?

well when we find these 4th round and undrafted guys, they give us some good years, we pay them nicely, and they end up getting us nothing

Every time I see Derrick Henry on the field it reminds me that Jerry is not serious about winning a championship.

October 12, 1942 - February 24, 1989 Jerry? Glad I didn't know him.
February 25, 1989 - March 27, 1994 Jerry? Seemed like an okay guy.
March 28, 1994 - present Jerry? I miss him like I miss a bullet to the brain.
