The old Jerry that didn't hesitate to make a big move, not this Jerry that listens to Stephen and whomever else gets to him to make him think at the last minute. I realize that age is also an issue. Please give your thoughts, old Jerry we miss you!! Think of the talent we could have assembled if we had the old Jerry, or even someone Jerry put in place to do the things he USED to do!!
You're absolutely correct. He likes to present himself as a risk-taking wildcatter, but those days are long gone. Here's a quote from a recent article with respect to the coaching search:

"...expect it to follow the 82-year-old’s more recent interest in experience and familiarity rather than the daring, wild-card reputation Jones earned in the 1990s."

I argue that retaining Dak was a risk-averse move too.

No not really. Old Jerry was extreme on one end of the spectrum and now Older Jerry is on the other end. I dislike both extremes.

I miss him and thise days, because we didn't have a certain zoner starting threads and asking for our thoughts every 10 minutes.....just stirring the pot and adding spices over and over again. Probably, sitting back and enjoying a good laugh at all the bickering that je is causing.
Right, just like a little lonely kid. Nothing better to do 24/7/365...asking for thoughts. How embarrassing.

I miss the 1989 to 1993 Jerry, the one that allowed Jimmy to make the football related decisions and just signed the checks and greeted new players at the airport.

The old Jerry wasn’t dealing with a salary cap and his number one priority was not only making money, but winning. He had to win early on especially to build a new stadium.

yep, old Jerry was more fun, he would have hired Johnson or Vrabel before the end of the season

What old Jerry are we talking about? Old or new, Jerry still hasn't won a damn thing in 30 years

Jerry had Johnny Heisman over Zack Martin......yeah, that was dumb.

Jerry’s always been an idiot but now he’s an idiot stuck with the worst contract in football. His Dak contract makes him look just as dumb as Minnesota taking Hershel and giving us all those picks. That hershel trade is now overshadowed by the incompetence of Dak contract, laughing stock of NFL

I don't miss the Jerry who paid a damaged Romo a huge contract and repeated the same lame mistake with a damaged Dak.
How old do we need to go?
I don't care what anyone thinks. I think Romo was never a bad choice or bad contract. If Romo was on most other playoff teams. He would have probably won a SB. I mean, we had freaking Statue Bledsoe before Romo.

I do. Even though the old Jerry made some massive mistakes. But it's better than what we're doing now. Even though he's made mistakes, he has to have learned from them. But no, he has decided to stop making those moves altogether.

Every move Jerry has made without the guidance of Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcels has pretty much blown up in his face. So much so that he has grown gun shy.
