Dont you think Romo and Garrett have a much better chance this time around for many reasons already gone over?

I dont see anyway things wont get better.

Im interested in differing opinions, just make them original.

...but given the past two seasons I would think this is a bit early to be talking about December.

I guess I answered your question. This team deserves a "wait and see" attitude right now.

Fair enough, but I believe many of the problems have been adressed and things can only be better this time around.

Doc,

The only time it bothered me about the team in December was when Parcells was the coach, I have never liked the guy, I have always and still consider him a New York Giant, but I did give him the benefit of the doubt, because I thought he would come in and drive out all undiscipline play, that causes us to get all those penalties, but we only got worse.

Now, since Romo has taken over as the QB, and Garrett the OC, in spite of our 9-7 HC. I cannot wait till Jerry give the HC job to Garrett.

I have been one of the few that has seen the past 2 and a half seasons as a maturing process for Romo and the team. Michael Jordan is my favorite athlete of all time, I learned from the bulls about the maturation process of personnel, and before the Bulls did it the Pistons had to do the same for about 3yrs to get by the Celtics before they won, so, I waiting and watching, and I hope everyone else is as well, because we all will see those guys mature as the season goes on, and if we do not win this season, there is no doubt that if they mature like I believe they will, next season we will hold up that trophy in our own brand new stadium

If you believe as I do that everything starts at the line of scrimmage then I think our season will be dictated by the play of the guys up front. Last year for instance Dallas gave up the most sacks of any month in Dec. If you can't protect and open running lanes it becomes damn hard for the skill position players to execute.

I can .... having the executive decision on 3rd and long delayed handoffs would give me a heart attack.

Has been adressed. No more bombs to T.O. that expose Romo for 4-5 seconds. Instead the running game and shorter passes will be the focus. Protecting Romo(who has notably tightened his grip on the football) and getting the ball to our best players on high percentage plays.

Why sometimes in 3rd and 20 you are better of running it and then punting it that risking the sack or int. Defense has a clear cut advantage in that sitution. If your behind in the game then it take your chances but why make a bad situation worse if you don't have to

True but it will still require better play from the guys up front and it was easy to see the line played extreamly poor over the last month of the season. When you have defenders in the backfield as soon as the ball is snapped it is hard to get anything going.

The biggest obstacle this year is the brutal December schedule. That being said, if they are a true contender, they should be able to get through December better than the last few years. If not, they likely won't make the playoffs.

Romo has never won a playoff game, until then he needs to prove it to me, December fade, etc.

That is true, I am constantly telling people that. What gets me is how the so called experts and even coaches cannot figure that it all starts with the O- line and the d-Line. David Carr was ruined because the Texans were so focused on getting other skilled players first instead of getting skilled lineman.

Romo has personally never LOST a playoff game either.

Tony Romo has nothing to prove to me but this team sure does.

The focus is always on the QB I get that but I know the QB can't do much if he is under a ton of pressure. When defenders are in the back field before the RB has a chance to get to the line of scrimmage it is damn hard for skill players to do much of anything.

You are correct sir.

Romo was sacked 20 times last year, 12 of those came in the final 4 games. It all starts with the O-line. We keep these guys healthy all year and we'll be good in December. Well, at least on offense...

Who knows. If we have lots of injuries, I suspect it very well could be the same.
