Does anyone recognize this guy?

Dude is a human being that is siphoning money right now. I have no compassion for anyone that disappears after signing a large contract. Sue me.

That's the story of the NFL. You sign a big contract....you get injuries and as you age your body dwindles down. lol Look at Mario Williams, Julius Peppers, Desean Jackson....no one is asking for compassion but this is the NFL. Its why QB's get the 100 million dollar contracts because they are more than likely to keep up their play after the contract since they take probably the least amount of contact.

That's how it is in here. It still amazes me how people can talk and make threads like these about a NFL player....its the NFL. This is astory we've seen time and time again. Every team goes through it. Its not a lack of "heart" or "took the money and ran...". The guy has hammy problems and he and Romo aren't on the same page. He's probably gone next season but as of right now he's a Cowboy and he's another option for Romo out there.

He also came up with a monster third down catch against the Giants a few weeks ago, but screw him right, he's a bum and sucks.

Sometimes I wish someone would make a website where they followed our fans around in their lives every day and talked **** about them every time they made a misstep at their job, called for them to be cut, or for their pay to be cut. Put a lot of this mess in perspective.

Not saying you can't criticize a player's performance or a coach's performance, but I think there are right ways and stupid ways to go about it. People can fill in the blanks with what kind of way this one is.

It happens. Guys get better, or other guys get worse.

Miles hasn't been able to stay on the field. Fortunately for the team, they've developed viable options in his absence and he also has a very manageable contract when it comes to the business aspect of things.

He'll probably be gone after this season, but that's football, and that's business. It doesn't mean you have to make a ridiculous thread about him. Dude is a human being who's still going to work every week trying to do his best.

We're talking about a guy with one of the worst value contracts in the league. Any criticism that comes his way is warranted.

Austin's bread-and-butter was getting yards after the catch. Commentators would point out his leg strength and how he could change directions and break tackles like a running back. He was never a jump-high-and-fight-for-the-ball guy or a nifty sideline receiver. He made his yards in the middle of the field. And given his skill set, the injuries have taken their toll.

He can probably bounce back some once he gets healthy. But he'll be 30 years old by next training camp. And I figure (like most folks here) that training camp will not be with the Cowboys.

Romo no longer trusts him.

Romo doesn't trust anyone if you watch the games. Only thing he trusts is Dez in the red zone. I don't completely fault him for that though. Some of the routes these guys are asked to run are laughable at times.

Many a player at the NFL level have strong productive careers and earn every bit of the contracts awarded to them. Miles has clearly come up short in that respect. He's the 4th best WR on the team right now. Not quite matching up to his paycheck. I already know how this story concludes. He's not going anywhere and "performing" next year. If someone was to dangle another carrot contract out in front of him, he'll take it. That's guaranteed. But he won't perform.

Miles Austin's contract is worth $18 million guaranteed, $17.1 million of which was paid out in the uncapped year.

Please tell me how the value is poor. I'll wait.

Right. So based upon your logic, Miles is a veteran WR that has been in this system for several years. What's his excuse for running a bad route?

A bad route? What routes did he run that were bad? I wasn't at the game so forgive but from the telecast I saw TWO slants where Miles was wide open and Romo couldn't get it to him.

He should do the right thing and return a portion of that 17.1 mil.

I was basing my response on your logic.

So is it the WR running bad routes or the coaches giving them ridiculous routes to run?

And assuming you've been way over-performing at every job you've held your entire life?

I bet you've had days where you underperformed. You're human. You going to give your money back to the company?

6 year 54 million.

Very little return on that investment. Great job Jerry.

Austin and ware alone kill the cap.

Hey I have an original idea - let's trash a player on the team for no reason. Especially after just beating the Commanders in their own building in heartbreaking fashion for Commanders Nation.

A novel concept.

Man calm down, nothing wrong with poking a little fun at Miles Hamstring Austin.

Oh no I was implying the crappy routes they are asked to run. They asked Beasley to run a out route like that was actually a viable option for him yesterday. And if you notice every time this team has success offensively in the passing game it is more than likely coming from Romo improvising or a receiver improvising and just getting open. Its why every 3rd down we get blitzed and can do nothing to overcome it because these routes are not freeing anyone up. I don't know why teams don't blitz us all game.

You may be right. His hammy's have hurt his career. You don't become a undrafted rookie small school kid and just lose your hunger. That's not how you're programmed. Same goes for Romo. People will argue he's taken a step back since taking the money but i'd look towards injuries as opposed to the contract he's signed. He hasn't lost his hunger or his competitiveness.

Stop this comparison between average joes and NfL players. They are on a pedestal and susceptible to criticism. If you don't want to partake in the criticism, this isn't the thread for you.

I'm sorry you and Roycaice don't have a sense of humor.

I give 100% every single day. So you're using the wrong parallel. If a person is dogging it in a regular job, the annual evaluations will tell the story. Guess what happens if that person doesn't excel? More often than not, that person finds another line of work.

Who put NFL players on a pedestal? You?

"This isn't the thread for you" - I'll post in any thread I damn well please and criticize any person, NFL Player or Average Joe that I want, thank you kindly.
