2007 wasn't even Romo's second best season as a starter

Romo's best season for the team was 2007, his first full year as a starter. That year he just ran the plays the coaches designed. He used his athleticism to make plays on the run.

Did Brett Favre ever do the 85 audibles before the play? Not that I can remember. He just ran the plays that were called and used his ability to carve teams apart.

Like Jerry said, last year Romo was drawing plays up in the dirt. HE'S the one who audibles out of runs, and never targets the tight ends.

Romo is a top 10 QB in talent, but to me, trying to turn him into Aikman or Manning as a cerebral QB is what's hurting us.

He's best when others think for him and he goes and creates off that.

I think Garretts offense sucks regardless of the playcaller but with that said, giving more control to Romo clearly hasnt helped.

There are a lot of QB's in this league with lesser talent at the wr position and TE position, and less time in the pocket than Tony has had this year.

And their combined winning percentage is about .200.

i'd rather you figure it out

Help me understand your line of thinking.

Did this third and 20 happen after the roughing the passer?

I will almost guarantee if that were Romo that flag stays in the refs pocket.

And what would you be complaining about then?

Romo is suppose to magically find people in a timing-based offense that expects WRs to be in a particular place at a particular time. Do people not understand that when they say, Romo has open WRs, according to the All 22 and needs to find them, it's predicated on that open guy being his read. That is what a timing-based offense is...

When Romo is buying time and extendng plays, the you can be sure it's outside the offensive scheme point blank, because the passing game isn't getting anybody open.

If people want Romo to scan the field and find open guys, then what they are asking for is to essentially scrap the plays these clowns have come up with. I'm al for that BTW.

If Romo was a conventional, pocket-saavy QB I would say, give him more control.

Yet, in his 30s, he's thowing off one foot, making bad decisions (thowing into double and triple-coverage???) and keeping the opponents alive with his pix.
He's not someone you want with more control. He needs more control placed on him, but ya know, he's a superstar and not bound by the basics afford to mere QBs.
No, he'd be dangerous with more power.

the problem you have is that you can tell Tony or any QB run what I call and he an say I see a blitz from the weak side and the play won't work. Theres no sure way to make him stay IN the play.
