Does anyone think our offensive line is good enough for the playoffs?

What would you do to improve the offensive line?

Starters yes, but 1 more injury anywhere on the line and no way. It's a good thing Romo doesn't hold on to the ball like Rogers does or we'd set records last year for sacks.

If you think our offensive line is competitive enough, great. If not, what does Dallas need to do to get it there?

I notice you didn't vote on your own poll there, Nathan.

Care to have an opinion on your own topic?

Does Romo get the ball out quicker than Rogers?

Both Romo and Rogers have very quick releases. Rogers is known to hold onto the ball too long and is much more willing to take a sack rather than scramble around like Romo to make a play.

No worse than what the Packers fielded last year and will field again this year. The Packers are fielding the worst pair of tackles in the entire NFL -- a 4th round pick is going to start at LT and a UDFA will start at RT. They also have a UDFA at Center.

It's possible to hide the weakness of a poor pass blocking offensive line with a QB with a quick release, mobility, and an offense structured to get the ball out quickly.

And Romo has all those traits you just mentioned ... Your point?

The problem with comparing the Dallas and Green Bay lines is that the Cowboys offense is dependent on quality line play to run at 100%. This is a point that keeps being overlooked and some posters think that if the Packers can get by with a bad line, Dallas should be able to do it too. The two can not be compared nor can any other teams oline unless they run Garrett's offense. Dallas may have improved line play this year, but it hasn't improved enough to prevent the offense from falling flat on it's face against quality defensive line play.

I don't think having a quick releaase really addresses the question here.. i think Romo tends to hold onto the ball too long sometimes just as Rodgers does.

I don't really like any of these choices. I would not trade picks or players. I do, however, believe players have been released who are better than some of our linemen, and we will sign someone.

can anyone explain how another team's bad Oline makes ours better?

Very close call there.
I think up until the second half of last year, Rodgers has lately had guys who were where they supposed to be. That sure helps.
Rodgers protects the all though...plain and simple.

After looking at our backups play Houston in the final preseason game , if anyone thinks we have any NFL quality depth must be smoking something...

God forbid , we can't afford to lose any starting OL for any significant time.

Yes, got busy with work today, but I think that we need to trade a player, preferably to get immediate help on the line.

Right now, we have one backup forced into a starting position. There's not enough depth to get things going.

Trade Orton for a Guard, trade a running back for a Guard. Trade a promising LB for Depth on the line. Something!!

I'm less enthusiastic about trading a draft pick for an OL, but SOMETHING has to happen. I'd be ok with it.

Yes, under steady, nerve-wracking pressure due to a poor O-line, he throws it much quicker than Rogers, and into the hands of the defenders.

Thanks for the alley------- OOOOOP!

Tony Romo is a great quarterback in need of an offensive line!!

Now, I wish I had added another option:

Trade a draft pick-so-disappointing-for-the-fans-you-can't-disclose-it for a special teams ace!???

It seemed too ridiculous at the time I created the poll, I didn't think of it.

Wow...

I think this o-line is better then last year. having a quality center will help this team more then we know. the run blocking the last two preseason games was a little better then last year. if we have injuries we will be in trouble. I think we can make the playoffs with this line. that said I think that there are bigger problems on the defense line right now with spencer being out with a knee and Ratliff. also starting an undrafted player in hayden scares me.
