Does Dak even think about it?

Does he ever once stop to think about how things could have been different if he didn’t let his greed and ego get in the way. Does he ever think, “you know if I didn’t like Brady and Mahomes” I might actually win a title as opposed to be the laughing stock of the league”. Think he has any regrets about his demands to be the highest paid player in history? Or does he just chuckle to himself every time he looks at his bank account?

The team currently has 20-30 million in cap space. I’m not sure what this comment means. If you work for a company, then the budgets for salary would be better if you took a pay cut and allowed management to hire more quality workers

Just like anyone else, you’re going to take what they give you. If the Cowboys are dumb enough to give it to him, of course he’s going to take it. Greed and ego plays a part in every single NFL player contract.
Every NFL player should chuckle when they look at their bank accounts. They know the pay they get for what they do is outragious

ok, tell me how much he should have made? and please don't be hate and agenda driven. not your opinion. but realistic on how the market works. do it based on where the market is/was with all these other QBs who signed 50M+ contracts. then tell me how that would have made a difference on the team and how we would manage the cap. keep in mind we started this off season with what!? 50M on the cap? and previous season we still had around 20M and the season before 15M and the season before that 25M....

once the light bulb goes on that its not a cap issue. its a GM issue, who literally, said "I like to stir things up" and "I like the drama" and "cowboys are like a soap opera"... then you will understand. until then you just want to point your finger at one person, one place because its easier to deal with. its 30 years and counting.

Dak could be making 1 dollar a year and our team building philosophy would not change.
Yeah but that doesn't fit the narrative Dak is the only problem in Dallas that some want to spin.

Poor Jerry would have built a Superbowl powerhouse if it wasn't for Dak's contract... that Jerry signed him too... after messing around for a year when he could have signed him for half of what he got... then did the same with Lamb the next year... Poor Jerry.

I don't blame Dak, at least not completely. I blame Jerry 100% because Jerry capitulated to Dak's demands. He could have said no and held the line. He did not have to give Dak the new contract, or the no trade clause. Dak's contract is all on Jerry.

What I can blame Dak for is taking $60 million and playing like a $30 million QB. I worry about Dak's attitude for even asking for that much money considering what other QBs were getting.

I will never blame a player for getting every penny they can from an owner. They owe it to themselves and their families. But once they take that money I do expect them to play to the level of their compensation. Dak has never played to the level of his compensation since his rookie contract. Compared to his performance on the field, he is grossly overpaid.

He deserves more money wasting his career working for an incompetent GM.

A lot of players leave the stadium and enter a life of luxury Dak included. So in that environment I would think it to be not so much a reflection on what could have been but a reflection on ones comfort and satisfaction with no foreseeable problems really facing the player. They don't dream of SB or HOF status much these days

I dont think that he sees himself as greedy or egocentric. I do think he sees himself as quite the oposite.

And thats the biggest problem with such kind of people: they dont think they do something worng. They think people who are not like them do something wrong or should change.

And i also think he chuckles a lot. The guys primary goal was and is to make money. He doesnt really are about sporty success. The sports he does is just a way to achieve his goals.

Of course he will tell you all the right phrases if youd listen. The guy is stupid but not that kind of dumb.

Free market, plus he had probably figured out that Jerry is more likely to pocket the saved money rather than bring in REAL starters through FA that would help the team get past the 2-5 playoff record since Daks been here

It wouldn't matter.

There is no team you can build in modern football able to carry Dak.

There comes a point in every playoffs/season where the QB has to step up and make plays. Dak will fail.

  • Yeah, it's like the idiots who supported Garrett, and justified the crap by saying, "I don't blame Jason, it's Jerry."
I'm going to try that on the job this week. I'm going to do basically nothing, and I'll blame the owner. "He won't let me do my job" smh....

"I just need more guys around me to carry me, to do my job."

I doubt he regrets getting the money, but I'm sure he feels a lot of pressure trying to live up to being the highest paid player in the NFL.
