I'm sure if Kiffin wanted Holloman to start he would start. I just doubt he's thought to be ready yet.

Yep. I do think the team was seriously considering Sims earning that spot before he had his setback.

Holloman's going to put the pressure on at some point, though. He makes plays, and if he can demonstrate that he's not going to make mistakes over time, he'll end up a starter by next season and will probably work his way into some snaps on select packages here early this year.

The Kid has clearly out played Durand and Sims.. For years it has taken injuries for a young guy to earn playing time... The law firm of Lee, Carter and Holloman...

I don't like Durant. So I'd start Sims or Holloman. and "The Law Firm" is already taken. But that will be the starting 3 next year for sure.

Yep. It's because avoiding one bad play is more important than making one good one. All of the SLBs have played at a fairly high level here. We're lucky to have some options at that position given how few resources we've actually dedicated to it.

This.

Holloman is playing like a first round pick.

I say play him or Simms.

Both have more upside then Durant.

I thought Sims was playing really well before he got hurt. But I agree I would start him or Holloman. Durant does nothing for me and as a LB he should've made that tackle last night. That was embarrassing lee or carter don't get run over like that. Heck even Mr. Church had a couple of one on one open field tackles with good form Durant not so
Much.

We could cut him and use that roster spot and never miss him.

Seriously though. .. If Holloman was taken in the first round we'd be comparing him with Alec Ogletree right now and asking who is better.

No need to tap the breaks on this guy. Just play him. If he finally shows signs of his youth then just play Simms.

Ernie Sims had a great camp. Easy to call him a jag since he hasn't been on the field, but I expect good things from him, and consistency that I don't think we'll get from Holloman yet. It would be great to see him develop so that we could save money next year on one of these veteran players if not both of them.

Agreed. Durant is somewhat lucky that Sims injured his groin and missed much of the preseason. I think that starting spot could've been a toss-up if not for the injury.

As for Holloman, no need to rush him. Ideally, the staff can spoon feed him snaps in preparation for a much larger role next season.

I'm a Holloman guy myself I thought he could be the steal of the draft... So far I'm looking pretty good on that prediction. I think he'll be starting by mid season.

Was there ever an explanation for that? He certainly came in and played like he had something to prove.

He was sat the rest of the first half after he fumbled. After six team turnovers in week 2, Garrett was sending a message.

i think or DC has enough stroke to start who ever he thinks gives him the best chance to win.i think holloman will play alot but i think durant will start because he is a proven vet. and he is a much better player than people seem to give him credit for.

Give the vets the first chances to prove they belong as a starter but don't hesitate to try out the rookie if they don't.

I would love to see what Hollaman has as a starter.. With that being said I do worry he is young.. He is a fantastic player and should become a big asset to a team already looking to have the top LB duo in the league.
