Most teams reflect the coach they play for. Is it fair to say Garrett is passive? Which reflects the team play.

He isnt ready to be an NFL head coach and certainly not head coach of the Cowboys. He could one day be a good head coach. But, its going to take him getting fired, moving on to another coordinator position, gaining much more experience from various NFL head coaches...and then taking another shot at it.

I can hear some Garrett lovers already: About 8 years from now when he is doing a good job as head coach...they will be saying...."See? See what we could've had?"

Not realizing that getting fired is part of what helped him get better. Re-evaluating his ways, gaining more experience as an assistant, reflecting back on his mistakes etc.

You don't put anyone without experience in the hardest league. You don't put a guy who had a couple of street fights in a bout against Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Jerry Jones fast tracked Garrett. Garrett should be in college somewhere learning to coach in an atmosphere with much less pressure, or he still should be an assistant to various great coaches, absorbing the game. It's not surprising Garrett is getting the results he is. He never had time to learn his job and he's being put in a pressure cooker that is the NFL.

Even moreso because its the Cowboys. Certain teams in pro sports simply are not for rookie coaches/managers. Cowboys are one such team. Like the Yankees. I would also say the Celtics. At least the young guy they put in charge this year had success at the college level and also they gutted their team and are rebuilding...which takes the pressure of the head coach.

Teams like the Jaguars, Bills, Cardinals etc...? Maybe they can take a chance on a guy with no head coaching experience. You simply cant do that with the Cowboys. And for as smart as Jerry Jones is, he should be ashamed of this move.

He's inexperienced as a head coach. If there is ONE level you do NOT learn on the job - it is the NFL. I never liked the hire and none of this comes as a surprise to me whatsoever.

Garrett's not looking good on the sideline, at all. Team's motivation, physicality, and urgency appear to get outmatched every week......reflective of the coach.

He is pretty conservative, but that is not a lack of confidence. I think he has a lot of confidence in his passing offense, bordering on arrogance even.

Garrett doesn't appear to be lacking any confidence he starts off every presser with a cocky grin on his face like the Cowboys are coming off a big win and he's coaching a 10-3 team.

That's because he's undefeated in press conferences. Straight owning the press.

I'll still take Ozzie's opinion over y'all's.....

Ozzie Newsome selected Kyle Boller in the 1st round of the NFL draft in 2003. Ever hear of him? He was a quarterback and he was terrible.

My point here isn't to slam Ozzie Newsome -- it's just to indicate that everybody, even one of the best GMs in the NFL, can make bad mistakes.

If you've seen one of his pressers you've seen them all I usually click them off after 5 minutes.

Besides didn't Garrett turn Ozzie down not the other way around

The guy was a history major in college. I don't think he's even that 'smart', though even if he knew all historical facts, it still doesn't mean he can coach football.

Clearly you do not appreciate the mental chess game that he wages on the unsuspecting media each week. With each cocky grin, he is saying checkmate in his head.

The NFL was just too much for him. Maybe he should have started out as a high school coach somewhere
