Will there be another "The Catch" moment? How about "The Catch and Run"? Will the winner of this game go to and win the Superbowl like in the last 4 meetings in a row between these two teams going all the way back to 1980? The only difference in this game compared to the previous four playoff meetings is that they are the three and six seeds and not the one and two. Bottom line is this playoff game will be great for the NFL.

History repeating itself, that could be a sweet rewrite...as to repeating on site, listen to all the historical rewriters on Jerry and the Cowboys.

Dragnet...the truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God.

The only "catch(es)" the world will be talking about after this game, are the ones made by Dallas. Both TD's and Pick 6's (I would settle for just picks).

I swear the NFL thinks our rivalry started with "The Catch" aka "The Fluke". They rarely mention the 2 straight championship games we beat them in '70 & '71 (not to mention the '72 divisional round). But be ready to watch that overplayed Clark BS hundreds of times this week.

The Cowboys are 5-2 vs the 49ers in playoff games. Most of the history has been on our side, so let's repeat that.

I’m just glad we got the afternoon game Sunday with CBS. I think Romo will be doing the game:)

For me this was the 1st memory of the Cowboys vs 49ers in post season. Roger entering the game late to take over for Morton and the rest was history

One of the truly great comebacks in Cowboys history. It ranks right up there with the Hail Mary game. The last three minutes of the game my whole family was jumping up and down and screaming in our living room.

Yeah me and my dad are being teased by my uncle and friends that the Cowboys were going to lose, Roger came in and had a fumble and all I heard was Roger fumbley was not going to make a difference, then it all started to happen. After that game, I never left a Cowboys game or turned it off until the game was over.

Just read Mike is 0-2 vs SF in playoffs. Haurbaugh.

Outside of that, neither of these two teams can touch those great teams back than. How many HOF’s? I can’t even count!

Yea. The youngsters around here who don’t think that Roger is the greatest player in Dallas Cowboys history should be locked in a room and forced to watch his come back victories like this on a continuous loop for a full day.

when Roger was quarterback I never worried when the team was down with less than four minutes to play because I always believed that he would bring us back. He darn near always did

I agree, the rules were different so the passing stats compared to today was much less. However as Charlie Waters would say as long as Roger is out there you gotta believe because so many times Roger would rally this team back when all looked to be lost.

Exactly. I was thinking of that Charlie Waters quote too. Because they all believed in him so much it made them believe in themselves as well

Bob Lilly is the greatest Cowboy, and I am no youngster,

I still love football today but damn happy I grew up during this time of the NFL before FA and salary caps. Teams were built for the long haul and these teams were like family, they would for the most part play their entire career with one team. Those were the most enjoyable times as a fan of this game and of this team

If the Cowboys don't win, Romo will get Aikmaned here. He'll suddenly "hate" the Cowboys for pointing out something good by the Niners.

So let's hope the Cowboys roll. I don't need to see a dozen threads crying about Romo.

winner also went to the super bowl in 70 and 71, just not 72 only because Staubach was rusty from his injury

Looking forward to it, hope they wear normal uniforms

That plus a month of threads on how the league is out to get us and the refs are crooked. The place will be one big Overtime Zone

I love Bob Lilly, but a quarterback has greater impact on the game than a Defensive tackle

Doesn't work that way, ya go with best at the position, Lilly a 7 time All Pro, Staubach...once.
