At one time, Jerry cared about winning provided it happened his way and he got credit. Now, at this point in his life, he and his sons are glorified bean counters. It’s all about maintaining, not risking.

I’m with you on Stephen A. The man has made a career out of being cruel to people with a fraction of his wealth and reach. Classic punching down. Literally everything that’s wrong with public discourse in this country. Jerry will absolutely throw fans under the bus if it’s profitable.

I have to wonder something. Does Jerry actually hate the Cowboys or just not care? I think he secretly hates the Cowboys. If he actually likes the Cowboys, I would think he'd at least show more interest. I feel like it wouldn't just be a get rich scheme to him. Now, you may say, "well Rusty, you're just sore. You have never seen success, and you're sore after that game. It's not that". Well, yes, I am very angry about our team! I'm angry because I want better for the Cowboys! I want the team to actually care! There are 32 teams in the league. The only other team that doesn't seem to care is the Panthers. I'm absolutely furious with yesterday's result! It's week 2!!!!

Secondly, let me point some things out that are leading me to wonder if our own ownership hates us.

  1. The glaring weaknesses that never get fixed - all last season and this whole offseason, in fact, going back to the 2018 playoff loss to the Rams (technically in 2019), our most glaring weakness has been that we can't stop the run. It's a blueprint that has been out there for at least 6 years. Yet, Jerry has never fixed it. You can't win playoff games or beat the top teams if you can't run the ball. We have NEVER fixed it. It's always cheap and lazy moves that clearly will not work. As for running the ball, that was an issue all last year!! The Bills, Dolphins, 49ers, Cardinals (with no Murray), and Packers all exploited that! They did Jack to fix it! I knew going into this season that our inability to run the ball and stop the run was going to be an Achilles for us this season. It's turned out to be more than an Achilles. It's a bloody leg amputation!!!! Yet, does Jerry care? No! Any competent GM would see this immediately and fix it! Yet, we as fans sitting at home or at the bars can see it! If we can see it, the opponents can. Only an owner that has actual disdain for his franchise would ignore this.
  2. The cycle of coaches that don't fix a thing - it doesn't matter who coaches this team. It all comes back to Jerry. Yet, the culture seems to have been this way since I started watching this sport (1999/2000). The coaches change. The players change, but the results don't! The culture doesn't. Either Jerry doesn't care or he hates us.
  3. His interview with Stephen A Smith - so, let me get this straight. Stephen A Smith repeatedly calls us fans "reprehensible", "disgusting", "nauseating", and all sorts of other insults. Yet, he and Jerry just laugh it up together and are friends. If you're an owner, why would you be friends with an individual who routinely lampoons, bullies, and attacks your fan base? Why would you even give him the light of day? I understand that Stephen A Smith is nothing more than a heel. I understand that he knows that he makes his money from Jerry and talking about the Cowboys. However, it just tells me that Jerry has disdain for us that he is not only friends with Stephen, but he actually gladly has interviews with him. It comes across to me, as a fan, as though he will sit back, collect the money, and throw his fans to the wolves like Stephen a Smith. Let the fans be bullied! I'll keep getting paid. It's disgusting!
  4. The attitude of the front office this offseason - this offseason was disgusting to me. The whole drumming up of "all in", which we all knew was bogus (I'd like to use a different phrase) and doing Jack was an insult to our intelligence as fans. Then to be asked about the apathy of the fans in the training camp press conference, and for his son to say "we have never had more season tickets sales" and for him to sit there laughing with it? That told me all I needed to know. This is why I've been furious with the FO this whole offseason and yesterday. Im a diehard fan. I grew up in a family of Eagles fans. I have been ridiculed for being a Cowboys fan so many times! Yet, the FO basically gave me the middle finger with that kind of comment! It told me that they hate me and us, and they just want all the money. Who cares about fans when you can make money? They don't even need us fans. They can rake in the money without us. That's what that statement told me.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it. I will always pull for this team as I'm a very loyal horse. My ire is not at the players. It's entirely 100% at the front office. From what I've laid out and others, not only do I think the front office doesn't care, I think Jerry and his son actually hate the Cowboys. They hate us fans. They're perfectly happy to watch results like yesterday because they'll get talked about. So what if their fans get ridiculed and mocked by other fans? They got $10Bil and counting! Im absolutely furious with the Joneses for the everything I laid out, and it tells me that they don't care and don't like our franchise. We are an example of a franchise with a front office that simply doesn't like us, but needs to keep us relevant to grow their wealth.

Maybe I need a little more time to simmer down, but I was disgusted with the blowouts last year. I was disgusted with the Packers game. I'm absolutely livid about yesterday! I'm livid with the front office. In my 25 years as a fan, I've never been so mad at the front office. All I want is some semblance of give a toss from the front office! If I was sitting across from Jerry, i want to ask him directly with a polygraph "Do you hate the Cowboys, or just not care?" He's ruining our franchise! He's ruining us! He's throwing us to the haters, and for what reward?

Yes, I'm venting. Yes, I need to let off the steam, but my fury is more than that! I want to know! Does Jerry actually hate us?
We have the worst D-tackles in the league. Philips is washed, it's over. Odiggy was bullied in the run badly. Our LB's are to light for these guys.

Our RB room is a joke. We can't run or stop the run.

I finally figured JJ out...i think. Its all about the bottom line and being #1 on Forbes. Just do enough to keep them relevant and in the news. That's it folks. Not gonna change at all.....ever.

I understand the frustration. I’m frustrated. We’re all frustrated but to come out and question whether Jerry hates the Cowboys? Come on man. That’s big time overreaction. He’s just a victim of his own narcissism.

Well, him being a victim of his narcissism is affecting us.

Well said.

Imagine throwing a huge party that people must pay in order to attend, some driving hundreds of miles, and it's a total disaster. Wouldn't you be embarrassed? Wouldn't you feel like the scum of the Earth? Wouldn't it make you want to fix whatever went wrong so that it never happens again? It would me too.

Jerry says the next party he throws is going to be a blast and he has gone all in to make sure it is and it's the same crap show.

He simply doesn't care. He takes people's hard-earned money and laughs all the way to the bank, and has hour-long interviews with people who bash his organization's supporters.

That's exactly what attending a game at AT&T Stadium is- going to a huge party and it's just nothing but a disaster. Nothing got fixed in the offseason. In fact, things got worse.

I'm done with this crap. I have better things to do on Sundays than watch this team. Everyone needs to stop showing up to these games in Arlington because they are laughing at you as they count the money they took from you.

Jerry doesn't hate the Cowboys and deep down I truly believe he would love to win and win big again

But he's really lousy at his job (as GM) and too arrogant/proud to hire someone who could get us over the top.

It's a lethal combination of pride and ineptitude. And as long as he's still at the helm, it isn't going to change.

He doesn't hate the Cowboys and he cares.

He just doesn't want to win at all costs and in a league where you have a number of teams that do, it probably is always going to leave you coming up short.

Note: The costs he aren't willing to pay include having a coach or GM who overshadows him. He would rather lose than win due to someone else's efforts.

Jerry loves the Cowboys because of the money they make him and his family.

This isn't hard to figure out.

You and I posted very similar sentiment on this back to back. I think you are spot on. Well said.

Yeah obviously, but he doesn’t hate the Cowboys. You’re a great poster and I don’t understand how you’ve sunk to this level. You can give him 100% blame and I agree with it but to say he hates the Cowboys? That’s a mountainweird type take. Sorry.

Jerry is a businessman first and foremost; I think Jerry places a higher priority in having the most valuable sports franchise in the world over winning another Super Bowl despite what Jerry says to the press.
