In a word. No.
Our game was there to win. Philly getting beat has ZERO relevance.

After watching the KC win over Philly last night, does the win make our one loss look more reasonable? The KC defense played very well and held the "vaunted" philly offense down for the most part...of course, the eagles had 5 turnovers (was it 6?) and that helped things, but a lot of that was caused by pressure.
IMO, our loss doesn't look so bad when you think that philly's offense was held in check just 5 days after KC held our struggling offense in check. This is a glass-half-full thought process, I will admit. the offense certainly has a lot to fix/update/improve and mush of that starts with the play-calling. But, I would have felt much worse about our loss if philly had trounced KC.
what say you?

I don't know if they held them down, Philly had 450 yards of offense and were able to move the ball pretty much at will. 260 Yards rushing compared to our 30 tells me our running woes last week weren't as much to do about the Chiefs front 7 as it was about our own ineptitude. It was the 5 turnovers and penalties that did them in.
Still nice that Philly lost though.
Agreed - seems like we are always looking for excuses.............., players, coaches and fans. Fact of the matter remains, we are an average football team. What happens in other games will not make us better.
Im surprised it took this long for this thread to arrive. There's no such thing as a validated loss. We lost for a myriad of reasons, time to move on.

It remains to be seen if this is, yet again, an average team. What is glaring is that Dallas has yet to develop consistency in the manner in which they execute on the field. Only time will tell if they have overcome the hump of their own mediocrity.
Good post, Sarge.
It's pretty sad to see how low the fans' expectation level is these days. We never use to excuse losses.
Perhaps. But the non-Dallas football fan will tell you that we are, and have been an average football team for over a decade. I would agree with that non-Dallas football fan. With that, I have seen nothing since Garrett took over that might suggest we are headed in the right direction.
Other teams rebuild - we just tread water - year after year after year.
