Kinda like Bienemy in KC.

Nobody will hire that guy because they know Reid is the actual playcaller and Mahomes does the rest.

I’ve seen Andy Reid trot out some no talent QBs over the years and make them look like really good players.
ESPN is not going to like what you said about Bienemy, lol

Their entire staff at ESPN has been on a personal crusade for him for many years now.

No one is allowed to question it or else

If he was anything close to Andy Reid he’d have been gone a long time ago.

NFL teams know he’s a fraud and that’s why nobody will hire him. Eventually some team will do it and it’s probably not going to end well lol.

…..and none of the peddlers on ESPN will ever acknowledge they were wrong about it too.

yes, OC matters. See Mcvay taking Goff to the superbowl. See Hurts passing for 120 yards and is playing in the superbowl. see Shanahan, going on a winnign streak with Purdy, the 3rd string QB.

yes, OC and scheme matter.
San Francisco and the Eagles have the two best defenses in the league. The Cowboys went 4-1 when Dak was injured because of the defense What this playoffs have shown is that we might only have one truly elite quarterback, Mahomes. He really took a discount because he should be making 60 million a season.

The head coach has a lot on his plate during the week. The OC needs to put together the offensive game plan. It's not just about calling plays on Sunday.

Maybe not so much on game day, but there’s a lot more to building a great team than making play calls on game day. McCarthy will likely have enough on his plate as the HC that he probably isn’t the guy working 1 on 1 with the players to implement a new offense. Also game day prep with watching film and knowing the opponent is extremely important and McCarthy can’t do it all. Which is why I won’t be surprised if we end up hiring 1 of 2 candidates that have been McCarthy’s OC before and know his system- Tom Clements or Edgar Bennet. Possibly both
No reason to change the offense. That would set them back a year.

Yeah but, is he really going to call plays?
Seems a touch premature.

Yes, it is very important.

While McCarthy will be heavily involved in implementing his playbook and coaching the finer points, the OC will be the one doing the heavy lifting. They will do the majority of the game prep and scheme to attack this week's opponent. McCarthy will have input in it as well, probably signoff more than anything. He will then call the plays during the game.

This is no different than Andy Reid does in KC, Doug Pedersen does in Jacksonville, and Mike McDaniel does in Miami.
Not correct on Reid or McDaniel.

Andy Reid is incredibly involved in play design, sets the overall philosophy and calls the plays. In fact Andy is one of the league's most famous and prodigious play designers.

McDaniel in Miami is also doing much more than just calling the plays. The offense design is a hybrid of what he brought from 49ers plus his own thinking.

With most teams the head coach is either heavily involved in offense or in defense. Dallas is unusual in that the OC, DC and ST coaches are more like czars with lots of control. Head coach doesn't control much at all in Dallas. If/How much that changes next year, unknown.

Since McCarthy will be calling plays. I think since Schottenheimer didn't get fired he's the guy that will giving McCarthy info from skybox. Think I'm more interested in the qb coach and ol coaches.

We're hearing bout these coaches released or brought back, micky was talking bout this. The Cowboys had 29 coaches lol. Said one was an assistant to the assistant. Said only one that was suprising is edwards
A lot times a gadzillion.

MmCarthy is going to change the offense from what Moore was running. Not saying it’s going to be monumental changes, but Moore wasn’t let go for no reason. They have the benefit of probably not having to change the verbiage so it won’t be forfeign, but things will be different

And it will not set them back. It should immediately improve the O.

Sorry...didn't mean to infer he wouldn't be involved. Just not to the extent he would be if he was just an OC.
