I dealt with many troubled players in my time. They don't think like me and you, football is secondary. He needs to get right mentally and beat his demons before he applies for reinstatement.

It more complicated than that.

They need to show certain steps and progress that he has made when he applies for reinstatement.

It's similar to a parole board. People don't get paroled unless they've met certain criteria in their actions including accepting responsibility for their actions.

There are professionals involved in his treatment. The mental health professionals don't follow a timeline based on the NFL season.
