Does RB Malik Davis make the Cowboys 53 man roster?

Even if there are no preseason injuries I’d go long at RB and keep him and Jones.

If we are ever down to Pollard and Vaughn that’s going to be a problem.

He's the #2 back right now by default, but everyone's gonna get a chance to take the job away from him. I don't particularly like anyone's chances unless someone is just that much better than he is in pass protection.

Side note: Luepke isn't going to be in competition with any of the RBs so much as he's in competition with McKeon and the decision whether to keep a 4th TE or a FB. My opinion. Let's see if it plays out that way in Oxnard, and who gets to eat crow. Of course, still no clear evidence that Luepke's shoulder is ready to take real punishment (no serious contact in OTAs), either, so remains on the radar that he goes on PUP, and that decision gets pushed back into the season.

Side note: Same idea... Vaughn isn't in competition to be a RB so much as he's in competition with Turpin and the decision which is going to provide more: Turpin as a PR and WR, or Vaughn as a PR and RB. Turpin's got a bit advantage so long as he proves that his 2nd half 2022 ball security problems aren't carrying over to 2023.

He would have to get injured to not be on the final 53.
Not sure about that. We have Pollard, Jones II and Vaughn. I don't think Jones II or Vaughn are locks, but neither is Davis. I like what we saw from Davis, but remember that Jones II had a season where he rushed for 5.1 YPC and had nearly 1,000 yards. Hasn't been close to that since.

After what Broadus was saying last year about him quitting for not getting any opportunities, I don't think he makes the team.

RJones has more rushing TDs than Pollard.

They are paying him to be RB2.

Not sure why there is so much #RJonesHate

It's Pollards 5th year. lol It's no secret he's been better for quite some time. This didn't just happen last season. You love defending Jerry anyway so this is right up your alley. It took an actual coach to make this change or he'd probably still be here.
Please refrain from using lol so liberally. It's kinda reserved for 13 y/o girls.

Now this is just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see Pollard carrying the load at RB. I mean someone has to do it. You can't go into the season with what we have at RB. Pollard, as of now, is the only proven back we have. Ronald Jones is very questionable, and Deuce is a small rookie. Davis is just a guy. I guess they are going to evaluate during preseason and maybe pick someone up? The problem with that is the good ones may be gone. We need a STRONG running game or we aren't going very far. ...JMO

I've said it multiple times but our approach at RB this year feels similar to our approach at WR last year.

I hope we aren't scrambling to find a TY Hilton late in the season.

Will have to roll with 3 TEs but should be fine there.
Agree going long at RB at least early will be essential.

I din't really have an opinion on it yet. I will wait and see what happens in TC & PS games.

Pollard will be the main guy as we know. I hope he gets to full speed soon, so he can build up some stamina to carry the full load.
But when the real hitting starts, that takes it toll.

I think they need to go long at RB or have several on the PS to call up, until they find out if they can go with only 3 RB's as usual on he regular roster.

I don't have a preference as who can be the #2 RB. I do hope Deuce pans out, as would love to have our own Sproles type player especially against playing Philly. Kind of a payback type thing.
