Does RB Malik Davis make the Cowboys 53 man roster?

Luekpe's performance will play heavily into this. If he flames out, it's an easy decision to keep both Jones and Davis. If Luepke is a keeper, Davis will be in a battle with Jones for that roster spot. I'm assuming Deuce makes the team (although I'm skeptical of him long term).

Dallas is not keeping 5 RB's.
Great point
I think right on point
With luepke I think Davis has the advantage of being a solid ST player and Jones hasn’t been a factor much in ST
Definitely gonna be one of the most interesting position battles in camp

Not with Jerry's 'superstar' on the field. Can't let an undrafted FA show up a 16 million dollar RB. How stupid would the GM look in that situation? Sounds crazy but that's how this team was operating with Zeke here. Pollard was better and more explosive and still not getting the snaps he should have.
I just finished reading Jimmy Johnsons book. It explains Jerry and his "way" perfectly

Now this is just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see Pollard carrying the load at RB. I mean someone has to do it. You can't go into the season with what we have at RB. Pollard, as of now, is the only proven back we have. Ronald Jones is very questionable, and Deuce is a small rookie. Davis is just a guy. I guess they are going to evaluate during preseason and maybe pick someone up? The problem with that is the good ones may be gone. We need a STRONG running game or we aren't going very far. ...JMO
I think Davis showed a lot of promise in the few opportunities he's had. He seems to have a decent combination of slipperiness, power, and quickness. He's not #1 in any category, but a good blend of all of them, much like Sherman Williams was, back in the day.

Yeah, that's why he didn't play.

I think Malik Davis is the number 2 RB and unless he gets hurt or has a terrible camp he stays there.

Ronald Jones is a fumble waiting to happen and while talented hasn't ever liven up to the talent.

We will run Pollard, Davis, and Duece this year with plenty of vets on the market to add if an injury pops up.

Zeke wasn't doing anything and you have another RB dressed, fresh and ready to go, but choose to continue doing nothing instead of at least giving him a shot. I guess that will remain a mystery! You could talk about how much he sucks, but then he shouldn't have been active at all if that's the case.

No idea. Maybe he can't pass block.

How much experiments come the way of an important playoff game against a proven opponent? He hadn't earned enough attaboys to get into the picture at that point. Get more realistic here.

Vaughn, Davis, Jones, and Luepke are fighting for two or three spots. Pollard coming off the broken ankle means these guys should all get plenty of opportunity. I look forward to it and may the best man win.

This preseason is likely going to see me watching the games multiple times as I have OT, OG, RB, TE, and WR just on offense I want to see. Much the same on defense.

This team is stacked.

I could understand the point if he wasn't outplayed by Pollard regularly long before the playoff game. So we can suck with one RB or the other.. and still lose! lol But when the team comes out afterwards and talks about how he hasn't lost a step, that is most certainly a problem.

Considering Zeke was garbage the entire game should tell you you need to try something different or at the very least sprinkle in a few carries when you're about to go home for the season which is exactly what happened anyway!
