Does the Dallas Cowboys have a psychological teacher on the team? LarryBrown mentions

Ok, I always believe in what former Dallas Cowboys players that were all pros, played the game with what they see on the field.

Larry Brown said to him the first thing he saw was that the Dallas Cowboys looked out of focus, had no sense of urgency that a playoff bound December team needs and missing that killer instinct to put a team out of its misery like the Giants were with injuries etc. We all saw how the offensive line looked lackdasical in run blocking. Larry Brown didnt mean by the Cowboys not being out of focus because they were not playing hard or hitting hard, but psychologically they looked like they just got back from a vacation and not in tempo for a big game that they always seem to be in that mood in December.

Now, think about this. What Dallas Cowboys player on this team, that is a veteran on the team as a Dallas Cowboys player has won a playoff game?

Has Wade Phillips ever won a playoff game as a coach?
Another thing that I have said that I dont like about wade, he seems to try to hide things and say we can overcome our defenicienies, but wade doesnt fix them till he has to, case in point, the run blitz for first game of the year, then the pass coverage in 2nd game of the year. Now, we have a kicker situation with Folk possibly losing his confidence. Wade could have brought in a kicker to wake up fplk, but he didnt. Just like when crayton kept losing fumbles on special teams, finally jerry jones said enough and wade had to demote crayton. Which was a positive influence for crayton later. Why does jerry jones always have to force these issues and wade always waits some of you dallas cowboys fans that have said wade is a great coach?

Who has won a playoff game that can teach these players how to win that really knows how?

Remember Tony Romo's comment on I dont know what it takes to get to the superbowl etc. Thats true, Romo has never won in a playoff game. Or when you keep saying to the team, we can overcome this, it will get better, because I am a winning percentage coach with stats, what if that fails. Do you have a psychological teacher on the team to prepare the Cowboys players on the team to be focused if that theory doesnt work?

Like Hostile mentioned and some others of you, December. This has always been our downfall the last 13 years because we cant get over the big game or win in December.

Several times in his press conference Wade said on some of the collapses in coverage, etc... that he didnt know why the team lost coverage etc, isnt suppose to happen. Doesnt the head coach know who and what person is in responsible on those blown plays? If he doesnt know, then how in the heck should the Dallas Cowboys players suppose to know and be ready?

It seems like to me, every time we have a bye week, the players most of them go on a vacation, they loose whatever focues they have, aren't prepared to deal with the game with focus, being able mentally to put teams away when they should, like put a dagger in a team that is wounded and caused you pain in the past. Yet, the Cowboys seem to allow teams to hang around, toy with the team till the Cowboys players make mistakes in critical situations to let the opposing team win.

So, what do you think zoners, any merit to this the Dallas Cowboys needing a psychological teacher on the team, that is playoff savvy and able to help the cowboys over this experience with playoff or big game playing ability?

You would think that Campo and Garrett would have a clue about what it takes. They have had some success in the post season.I think Wade is useless as a head coach,he just doesn't seem to stress the importance of games like today to the team.

See, thats my point, campo never won as a head coach here either when he was here. I dont think any of these players really know either or the coaches.

Campo was on staff with Jimmy,he should have an idea of what it takes.

Garrett was around when they were winning some championships as well.

I think part of the problem with an assistant coach taking to much of a lead in trying to motivate this team is that it further erodes Wades credibility. It's a fine line when an assistant comes out and tries to motivate a team, sometimes that motivational speech is taken as an attack on the head coach.

Larry Brown is an idiot.

Lets see now, larry brown was a MVP super bowl player in 95 superbowl. Larry also won how many championships in the NFC, 3, plus larry brown won how many super bowls 3?

So, he is an idiot, how many pro bowls, super bowls, mvp super bowls have you won?

I believe Brooking has been on playoff teams, and won a playoff game with Atlanta. Maybe even played in a Super Bowl? I believe so.

But, still, jesus, these players aren't infants, they have watched enough football in January and played enough in their lives to realize how to play when it matters. Which, is all of the time.

They are just not getting it done. I am not in that locker room when Wade speaks with him. So, who knows what he says. Do you really think that maybe if Wade threw around a few garbage cans, punched a locker or two. Got all red like in the face that this team would play with more hunger?

When does any of this fall on the players? This roster has been mostly intact the last few seasons. They have seen first hand what happens in December. THEY need to fix this.

Not sayin Wade has to go. I would like and wish he was just DC, but, in no way do I want JG anywhere near the HC position for Dallas.

And remember this. Once this new HC is hired, That means new folk everywhere, Scheme, etc.

If a new HC and staff are hired for next season. LOL. This place is gonna get to be real fun.

Our players know what they have to do and they know why they fail.

The problem is they don't know how to stop failing. They just cant get out of their own way.

Bill couldn't fix it and he is the best ever at fixing this exact problem.

So you fire Wade and I guarantee you we are sitting here 365 days from now complaining about the same stupid stuff and blaming it on who ever the new coach is.

Its up to the players to stop making terrible mistakes. Its on nobody but them.

I think the big question is whether or not players are afraid of losing their jobs if they continue to under perform.

Again, when is the last time Wade Phillips sat a guy down for not playing well or consistently making the same mistakes.

good spin but Tuna had 1/2 season with a real QB and a worse roster.

jerry & coaching puts us in position to FAIL and fail they do right on cue

remove jerry from the equasion and even our FLUNKY coaches would do better.

remove all three said flunkies and we'd no longer be america's nfl circus.

yes and no about if a new head coach takes over. What happened in 2007. Wade becomes head coach and boom, 13-3 season.

Do you remember that happening. This team needs a total firm hand like Jimmy Johnson had,

I just dont think Jerry is the cause of the mistakes happening on the field.

There is mental issues that occur on the field that Jerry and Wade have absolutely nothing to do with.

You have to blame the players at some point. Its easy as hell to blame Jerry or Wade but this team is under such scrutiny that they know what ails them and no matter how much it is instilled into them they still make those mistakes.

jerry provides the comfort zone like no other enabler.

even the "road team" is pampered in our lush, new stadium (opening building victory to eli ROTFLMAO)

YOU CAN'T HOLD A TODDLER ACCOUNTABLE FOR DROWNING IN A POOL UNSUPERVISED

get that thru your skulls fellow cowboy fans.

Well for Cowboy stadium being such a comfort zone for other teams we sure as hell have one heck of a record @ home this year.

You guys gotta stop blaming Jerry and Wade because the players are the only people who are going to make a damn thing change around here.

we lost (handed the opener) to the NYG which will probably cost us the season. pin that one on coaching and lack or preparation.

we closed the stadium in an embarrassment two 70+ yard runs against Mr-fix-it's defense.

Wrong, the head coach has to get the players ready to play and give them a good game plan to succeed.

Was the defensive game plan yesterday pretty good? No!

Was the offensive game plan for running good yesterday No!

Even I could see that; again, it seems like every time this team takes a bye week off, goes off on vacation, they loose their focus, urgency and get lackadasal. Possibly even the coaching staff does this too.

Its a shame too, because thats on the players, but the coaches, especialy the head coaches gives those players the weekend off etc

larry brown touched on this last night;

I had suggested something to this effect earlier this season and got laughed off the board.

There is a person out there that has a rock solid proven record of helping people succeed at the highest level. He makes champions out of people in a variety of sports.

“In my first year as professional Head Coach I’ve gone from leading an average team to an incredible and outstanding season, and winning the European Champions League! Using the strategies I’ve learned through coaching, I’ve changed doubt and fear for certainty and passion."
—Xesco Espar,
Head Coach, FC Barcelona Handball Team, 2005 European Champions League Winner, Spain

“Tony’s incredible understanding of the world, people, and human nature makes him the ultimate life coach. He knows what it takes to make people excel…
and to win!”

—AndrĂ© Agassi,
8-Time Grand Slam Tennis Champion

“Tony Robbins gives you the kick start to get going as well as the strategy to follow through with your plans. This program is a must for anyone who wants to get more out of life.”
—Lisa Curry-Kenny,
Three-time Olympian and mother of three
Laugh all you want folks. Until this team is given some quality mental discipline, we will keep doing what we have done.

Let me be clear: I am not saying the team and coaches should listen to some CD's and everything will be honky dory. I'm saying get Tony Robbins himself. In person. Multiple coaching sessions.

Yeah, I remember that happening, and what did 13-3 get them? False hope.

JG will not be around next season I don't believe, so that means a new OC and new ideas. New Players, etc. We have all seen that movie before. We just need the patience if that happens.
