I want to preface this by saying i have never been, nor will I ever bee a conspiracy theorist. I can't help but notice that the NFL has been against all things Dallas Cowboys recently. From the Dez no catch/catch, to the Hardy suspension to now the NFFC being cancelled one moth before it was scheduled to happen. Romo was right in his recent interview on The Fan; the timing of this is highly suspect.
The NFL had MONTHS to let Romo know he needed to change the venue because of some rules he didn't know about. What's even more curious is that The Lions and other organizations have events and activities on casino grounds but the NFL doesn't say anything about it. If I were Romo I would still have the event somewhere else on the same day, but don't associate it with the NFL. Romo should just throw a party and invite all of the players that were scheduled to come and still allow all the people who had bought tickets to come.
The reason I bring this up is because of this upcoming season. I would like to think that the NFL front office doesn't get directly involved in affecting teams performance and how well they do throughout the season. I also can't help but notice favoritism for certain teams throughout the league (Patriots being the Prime example). I love the sport of football and I love my Dallas Cowboys, but if the NFL doesn't start showing a move towards complete unbiased judgments towards teams and enforcing rules for EVERYONE, I feel it will lead to the downfall of the NFL.
Look at FIFA right now. Everyone has said for years that there was corruption at the top level in that sport, but no one was brave enough (until now) to do anything about it. That's part of the reason I don't watch soccer is because of the corruption, the refs missing blatant calls and that players flopping worse than any sport in the world. Look back to the women's world cup 4 years ago against Brazil, a Brazilian player faked an injury (to the point of being helped off on a stretcher!) to allow her team to set up a play. When as soon as she was off the field, she hopped right up like nothing was wrong. It ultimately back fired on them. It's acts like this, and like the ones the NFL has been pulling off lately, that lead to the integrity of the sport being questioned. Goodell has done NOTHING good for this sport. He's a laughing stock around the sports world and is seen as a puppet. He needs to be ousted right now.
Sorry for the long post. Those are just some thoughts I've been having lately. Thoughts guys?
