Now that Hamlin has been signed, our need for a safety is not as pressing as before. That doesn't necessarily mean that I think that Hamlin will be the cure-all to our safety concerns, but it does lessen the need at least in the early rounds in the draft. I could see us now going for either a run stuffing DT, a pass rusher, WR, or a CB. "Hopefully" we will be able to better utilize the pass rushing abilities of one of our young DL/LB who is already with us once Phillips more aggessive style of pass rushing is implemented. Considering the age of both Owens and Glenn, and that behind them, we basically have young guys with some degree of potential, yet they are a long way from being proven/established players, I wouldn't mind taking a WR with an early round pick because of that. We could also make good use of an early round pick with a run stuffer as well, so if there might be a WR or a run stuffer who, for whatever slips, then that would be my pick. Of course "where" we pick will be a factor as well. If we are able to find a team who wants to move up into our spot at 22, then make the trade to move down in order to pick up extra pick(s) so that we might be able to turn around and use the pick(s) to move up again in another round. Just some rambling and some incoherent babble/chatter on my part, but....isn't this the time of the year for that sort of thing anyway? (grins...)
