Does this SB change the occurence of the Rodgers vs Romo threads..

actually the only debate on Rodgers vs Romo is here on this website. Every place else it is "where does Rodgers rank with Peyton and Brady." The only thing that will keep Rodgers from becoming one of the best ever is if he keeps getting concussions. If he can stay clear of that he will go down as one of the best.

One thing people are forgetting is Rodgers led a team to a win in the Super Bowl with 15 players on IR including Finley and Grant; He lost his right tackle as well. Driver has been on one leg the last two months. That throw he made to Jennings in the fourth quarter was one of the best throws any qB can make without it going for a touchdown. If the WRS don't drop every other pass, the Packers win going away and the last minute the game is not in doubt.

The question is not how does Romo compare to Rodgers, it is how does Rodgers compare against the two perceived best QBs in the league. I know I am biased but Rodgers wins that with no debate. Peyton won his super bowl with a great running attack, Brady wins his with an excellent running attack. Rodgers had a few bumps over the past three years but whenever the Packers lose, the blame could rarely be placed on his shoulders. He is already the highest rated QB of all time in season and in playoffs. Not bad for his third year starting.

I understand how the media and the HOF vote rank QBs and how the casual fan ranks QBs. It is understandable and it is not going to change.

I think what gets so overblown are Super Bowl wins when measuring the quality of the QB. Last year the topic was Drew Brees...now he is so yesterday lets talk about Rodgers.

Is Rodgers that much better this year than he was last year? I don't think so. He was a Super Bowl quality QB last year he just did not happen to win it. This year he did, so lets throw him up there with greatness. Which is ridiculous. It is a team sport. Rodgers was more than capable of taking his team to the big game last year and winning, but certainly there was no hype last year and talk of him being the best QB in football, but this year here we are doing that very thing.

If Romo wins a Super Bowl next year then all of a sudden the dialogue on him changes greatly, even though the reality is he will be the same player he was this year.

I am not minimizing the importance of winning a Super Bowl to a QBs legacy. That is how QBs will always be measured when their careers are over.

I already had both in the top 7-8 in the league and I did already have Rodgers ahead of Romo.

But I'm very happy to have Tony Romo as the Dallas Cowboy's QB!
He is more than good enough to get us to where we want to go.

I got Rodgers @ 2b right now and Manning as 2A and the only reason Manning is ahead of him is because of Stats.

Rodgers is a more talented player than Manning accept Manning has the game down better mentally. Rodgers is close though.

I think if you were to grade both QB's on everything they do well Rodgers would grade out higher.

From a physical perspective, he is pretty much the modern prototype. Big, athletic, lighting release, (seemingly) intelligent, good leader, real good runner, etc

Brees is 32 and is definitely elite, however, I don't think anybody will argue against the fact he has maximized his talents -- he has far exceeded what anybody though was possible considering his stature. He is elite, however, I don't know that Brees is going to get any better in the future.

As I said I think Rodgers is a very good QB I also know if you have less than a stellar season next year some of those heaping praise will claim how over rated he is. I think there are some very good QB's in this league and Rodgers clearly is one of them and his star is shinning greater today because of Sunday.

I figured it was probably like that. I could see Chargers fans comparing Rivers to Rodgers as well, but pretty much every other fan besides Cowboys and Chargers are comparing those three.

Romo's my favorite player, but as of now Rodgers is the better player.

Romo has a better completion percentage so how exactly is Rodgers more accurate? He also averages more yards per pass attempt so that kinda throws out the whole he has a better arm. Rodgers doesn't take better care of the ball either. This year he threw 11 picks to Romo's 7.

You actually believe because Romo has averaged 8.0 per pass attempt compared to Rodgers 7.9 that means Romo has the stronger arm? :laugh2:

You're saying because Romo had 7 picks in the 5 full games he played he protected the ball better than Rodgers who had 11 picks in 16 games?

Dude Romo was on pace for 21 picks in 16 games. Rodgers only had 13 picks in the 20 games he played including the playoffs and SB.

Some of you are so bias it's laughable. :laugh2:

By the way Rodgers has a slightly higher career completion percentage than Romo and Rodgers has a higher career passer rating than Romo.
