Does this year feel different?

Only to the negativity crowd.
I'm a the glass is half empty AND half full kinda guy.

It's the story of our lives for quite some time. 2023 was glass mostly full going into playoffs, at home, against a worse team. Man we got er...straw sucked fast?

It's human nature to have hope...how else would we have survived all these millennia? But at some point, you have to do more than survive.

Feels the same to me... As hopeful as I am for Shotty to end up being a great hire, I have to look at the truth between the lines, and the fact of the matter is he is another Garrett hire without the Cheese factor... He has to prove first that he is qualified for the job before anyone should actually be hopeful.

In terms of team building, they've lost some gained some, but I see about the same if not worse.

Kellen Moore was at least a real OC here, unlike Schotty last year, and had the 2nd best offense in the NFL, only behind KC during his tenure here.

So "much better" than Super Bowl champ OC and now HC Kellen Moore is wishful thinking.

Kellen Moore got a bad rap because of the loser QB he was strapped with. I predicted when he took a lateral job to get away from Dak that he would be a HC within 3 years of leaving Dak and he did just that.
How’d he do with Herbert?

dak…jerry…stepehen…crappy head coach

yea real different lolol it is the exact same except the roster is worse and worse because they cant draft

We as fans have been eating saltine crackers the last 30 years....ownership feeds us something that looks like a Ritz cracker and we go nuts because we've been starving for so long.

I need to see it to believe it, hopefully they have done enough to at least compete in the division much less for a SB.

Looks like the Cowboys PR department has once again hoodwinked enough of the fan base to line up for a field goal with Lucy holding the football once again.

Every year I think this is the year this fan base sees this team for what it is, every year im proven wrong lol. Oh well I guess if you dont have hope what do you have.

I for one, was not going to get too excited about the upcoming season bc I've been let down so often as we all have. That being said... does this off season seem different... like there is an actual plan? Was Shotty the right pick for HC? Will Klayton Adams really have us moving the ball on the ground... will we set up every play to look the same so the run and the pass keep the defenses honest. Did we really draft a 1-2 punch at RB? Will George P and CD rip up defenses. Have we done enough on the D side of the ball to at least put us in the top half of league and will our O be able to up points as we hope they will?
I believe that question is asked every pre-season. This new season does seem different, but only because we have our new Dollar Store coaching staff and recruited Pickens and drafted Booker.
That's why this season feels different.

It feels slightly different, because we did not completely waste draft picks, in trades this off season.

It's 100% same old same old. Except there is even more Kool aid being consumed this year. I think Vegas has this team pegged about right.
I'm a LITTLE intrigued about Jaydon Blue. Of course his success has a lot to do with how the OL performs.
Yeah, you can have a 1200+ yard RB and still have a very average team. He's got to be better than the dude they had last year, right?

Sure, this season feels "different", as it should with different coaches, quite a few new players, and hopefully newer philosophies on both sides of the ball.

But will this translate to making a playoff run? We'll see. These days, I'm never that optimistic during the off season no matter what happens, until I see it on the field. The first month: Eagles, Giants, Bears and then Packers. If they are 3-1 after these 4 games, I'll start to grow a bit optimistic. Anything less than 3-1, and I'll have to delay my optimism for another month or so.

Blue is more explosive and a better receiver than Rico. We also have more physical runners than Rico for short yardage.

I believe the days of overpaying and or drafting a high RB that can do it all are over in Dallas.

GM Jethro is all on the passing league.
