could the roy williams speculation just go away already.

Lets draft our own next year.

Brad sham was on with norm last week and he said "high ranking scout with the cowboys told him had we selected bowe like we should have we could be punching the ticket already"

that was a pretty bold statement I thought. I cant imagine us trading for anyone at this point though.
Then we would be worrying about OLB with only Ware and an aging Ellis.

My apologies theebs. My fault for not letting it go. I have a reason not to.

Michael Crabtree in 2009 Draft? I know for a fact we like him a lot.

lol no need to apologise. I just think something very drastic would have to happen for them to move him. Plus whatever players are traded will be behind with their new team.

and philly i would think has more to offer in any deal than Dallas does, so there is a large hurdle there.

when? you tell me who we can get for the 32nd pick in the draft who will be a #1 WR and i'll giddyap onto that trailer and root with you.

there are a lot of "high ranking" players that never make it in the NFL. would you rather take your chances and pay more for known goods or just keep rolling the dice? i mean, if we pull the trigger for roy now we could avoid having to punch that ticket all together later, right?

saying we should have fixed the problem already is a bad excuse to not fix it now.

Umm what? that is not even close to what I said. I posted what sham said to emphasize how close this team thinks they are and how important that wr position is to them.

the 32nd pick? man what are you talking about.

i am all for roy williams as I have stated many times. I would love to see that guy here. That is a situation where it is kind of out of your own hands, but drafting is not. So hopefully next year they will find a wr or two. I think next years draft will be offense heavy again anyway.

I never said anything about high ranking players. I said sham talked to a high ranking scout. there is a slight difference.

Geez.

and i read that to mean you wanted to draft our own WR next year vs. trading for roy.

and then I went on to show how important and critical internally the cowboys really think that other wr spot is, meaning, I could understand and see the trade.

I am just saying, plain as day, sometimes trades are tough to put together but you can control who you pick when you draft, if guys are on the board that you want. thats all.

I am in favor of both personally, trading for williams and then drafting another wr next year. I am also in favor of trading a 7 for simms.

That's why Jerry dropped the ball by not trading for Jason Taylor (2nd & 5th round picks).

Cowboys would not only have improved their pass rush but also create the flexibility to package Ellis & a corner/pick to Detroit for Roy Williams.

Dallas cannot afford to lose any of its pass rushers now.

I don't know why everyone is so keen on getting rid of Ellis, production-wise he's one of the best at his position and seems to get better with age. He is a known commodity. We shouldn't take him for granted so much. My eyes are on Spencer. I think he's going to have a breakout season, but there's no reason not to have Ellis doing what he does (12 sacks or so) and Spencer coming into his own at the same time. It'll keep Ellis fresh. The more pass rushers the merrier.

Whoa hold the phone. Dropped the ball? You wanted him to trade a 2nd round pick for a player who will likely only be in the league 2 years possibly 3 at most? That isn't a very good way to run a football team.
