I wouldn't give anything ...........100% sure the Dolphins will release him. Even then, he could be a bit pricey as a free agent. I know we have always been high on him but I don't see it unless his value drops below $10M

As far as day 2 value, you can still make that move with a pick swap.

Id give up a 5th because then you control the contract and you dont have to bid against other teams. Fitzpatrick is still young enough and good enough to get a big contract on the open market

Stay away from former first rounders. Whatever happened to actually scouting hidden gems? This FO has an obsession with former first rounders thinking they're a bargain when they hit the open market. I personally think they're overvalued otherwise they wouldn't be available.

I like going after former 1st rounders as long as its not the back bone of your outside team building, as it seemed to he last year. You will miss way more than you hit, but the misses are small and the hits can be big. Its just got to be something you do as a side show

All those first 1st rounders we signed last year turned out to be a big bag of nothing. Just a tease on the hope they could flash that first round ability when the truth is they were available for a reason.

I think Fitz is getting released. The age and the money he makes is a turnoff for teams. I would love for him to be a Cowboy though.

I also like how the Dolphins begin scorched earth rebuilds when Minkah is on the roster.

Traded him away when they were tanking for a QB in 2020 and may be doing it again as soon as he was coming up on a year on the roster.

I’d trade a late round pick if I can agree to terms on a new, long-term deal.

Otherwise, I’d have to wait for a cut and negotiate a new deal then.

This is why I think giving up a late rounder for him is the best play. That way you dont have to outbid teams on the open market. At 29, Fitzpatrick would still get large offers on the open market. Giving up a pick to negotiate with him exclusively could save you alot of cap space

That would have to be a big part of the deal for me.

Maybe. But that’s not always simple to do. Moving down isn’t always possible and a guy that can help you could be there and moving down could cost getting him. Jerry likes moving down so it’s possible but what’s most important is getting 2 guys that are really good players

I don’t get the love for him. Expensive, one year left. If we want to add a safety sign Bryant or one of the other FA. He’s projected to get 14 which is less and you can structure a deal to be to your liking and have your picks
