Don’t sleep on Detroit

I don’t care if they are 1-15, any team can get beat in the NFL if the team doesn’t show up to play.
Obviously but the Lions are a bad football team - they have the worst defense in the league. It's not a good team with a winning record - they are very much in Dak Prescott's wheelhouse. Time to feast.

The problem is, Dak has played in one game since January of last year. He did not play in any preseason games or live snaps. He was terrible against a good Tampa defense.

I fully expect a win. But I do expect 4 to struggle to get going until after the bye

Romo - Pretty stats, but ultimately failed in most big moments.

Ware - Champion, but had to get away from Romo to win it.

Smith - OT's don't win championships. They aren't as important as the QB. He's been wasted with Romo and Dak.

Martin - Same as Smith

Marino - I don't know? All time pretty stats I suppose.
Disagree with a couple things but my point is it takes a team to win a championship. That's why guys like Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer won Superbowls....

Team effort and that includes owners/GMs that are too involved.

It's not just Ware that had to go to another team to make/win a Superbowl that played for Dallas. Yes winning is all that matters but just because a certain player doesn't have a championship doesn't take away from how great that player was

Agree, Detroit is better than most people think..

I suspect they will give us a good game, but we'll end up on top.

If our receivers get going, we should be OK. I worry about our passing game, though.

I fully expect Dallas to be down by 17 early and fight the entire game to catch up
for the game to be decided on the final drive.

As a fan, I reserve the right to sleep on any opponent. My thoughts do not matter.

The team, on the other hand, needs to take every opponent seriously. It's the NFL.

My primary confidence lies in the idea that they'll be playing at AT&T Stadium.

Let's hope it helps. Then, again, the Lions' defense isn't really the cat's meow.

I'm also favoring the idea that Dak's thumb magically aids his passing acumen.

I surely realize that's not very much to go by but I'm ready to hope for anything.

Not if the team doesn’t show up to play like they did vs Broncos.

This isn't directed at you Carson, I think you're one of the better posters on here and very level-headed.

I just don't understand folks saying he's rusty from no preseason. He came back last year under similar circumstances and played lights out the first half of the season. Then it went south. I am of the opinion that his problem is between his ears. When he talks, I think he is trying to talk himself into being more confident.

John Smoltz was a very good pitcher who became elite when he started seeing a Sports Psychologist. He admitted how talking to one changed his outlook. I think Dak might benefit from seeing one himself. Just my opinion.

Edit- missed a word.

Every opponent is formidable until we punch them in the moth, which we need to do. I hope the defense has a chip on its shoulder after last week. I hope Dak is on and our run game continues to shine. I hope Turpin takes one to the house. We've never lost to Detroit in the Dak/Zeke Era. They need to keep it that way.

Those saying Detroit is all that, if we win, you better keep that same intensity. I don't want to hear it was just the Lions since they're so good.

It took all time great defenses to win championships with Johnson and Dilfer.

They are rare examples.

It's MUCH easier to find a legit, top 5ish QB, then it is to build an all time great defense. So, I'd take my chances on the QB search instead of trying to build around a QB that leaves you basically zero room for error.

Appreciate the kind words my friend!

Do you think a top 10 or top 15 QB can win a Superbowl or just top 5

Cowboys can’t expect just to walk in and win this game automatically on Sunday. Need to bring 110% intensity level to match Lion’s scrappiness who will be clawing for a victory. Play smart, physical, and aggressive and this team can walk-out with a win.

Hoping for a loss are you? Typical troll behavior.

This game should be a win for us but cannot be taken lightly as the Lions under Dan Campbell play hard to the end.

Never a lack of effort with that team we cannot afford to accumulate stupid penalties and get on a bad roll.

We are the better team but penalties and turnovers can negate that advantage quickly.

Not sure if Swift is playing, but they were the #1 offense in football at least the first 4 weeks. IF Swift and Williams are playing that is one hell of a run game. Good Oline over there. Defense is terrible.

Cowboys will have to bury the Lions early, you allow a team like Det to hang around late into the game and give them hope they could pull off an upset.

It’s the opposite but a brain washed would say something like this. Typical Cap boy servant.

Say whatever you want about me I'm not a desperate troll that says stupid things because he needs the attention of other posters.

I predicted the Cowboys would win between 10-12 games this year and make the playoffs. Hows that looking?

You didnt even think we would be a 500 team. Is that brain washed or just brain dead?

We match up well. Goff is terrible under pressure.

I do think that the Lions are an optimal matchup for Dallas. The pass rush should feast against Goff who has been horrid under pressure in his career and is quite turnover prone. It is worth noting that the Lions offensive line has been quite solid this year and only given up 7 sacks. I expect that to change on Sunday with DQ bring 5+ rushers on 3rd and long. I imagine we get at least a takeaway or two on errant Goff passes.

The offense has shown glimmers of life the last few weeks that I think will finally come to a head with Dak back. The run game has been quietly efficient and I think Dak's return may give the passing game a little bit more juice and help us edge more toward 26+ points per game which will win a lot of games with the way the defense has been playing. Barring a few very bad turnovers from Dallas I don't see their defense doing much to stop us. Their pass rush is anemic and they can be run on as well. I do not see them creating much chaos and opportunity for turnovers.

Of course, every game in the NFL is a tossup to some degree and the Lions could surprise Dallas here, but I think the matchup plays into our hands.

This is a high noon game, so hopefully we dont come out the gates sleepwalking as we have done in the past for some reason or another. We normally come alive in the second half though and should pull this one out!
Detroit has played tough this year, it's the injury bug that got them the last couple weeks at the skill positions.

Go Cowboys!
