I would not mind him coming in really cheap to help teach the other players, but the guy is already 34 and that is pretty darn old for a LB. I would not go much higher than the vet minimum.

Let's not forget that at age 34 he still plays at a very high level and can (AHEM) cover a TE running a fly route down the middle like white on rice.

I've been an Edwards fan for a long while - ever since I read a story about him while he was in college (he was finishing his MA -- that's right, his MA) during his last season at UCLA.

I look at Edwards and see the kind of vet leadership that takes a good D to the elite level.

Love this guy.

Oh yeah, get me an FS too.

I am weary of the middle aging veterans who get injured and are not agile in the field and run out of gas by midseason.

Let's not forget the large contract that our existing MLB (BJ) just received. I'm all for bringing him in, as long as we're not breaking the bank. To bad we couldn't just trade James for him

I doubt Edwards is coming here...he'll probably get some decent offers and a sure starting job elsewhere

they arnt going to bench Ayodele, and its not unreasonable to expect James to be alot better in a defensive scheme that actually makes sense...the guy DID have a very good 2005 and started off ok in 2006

moving Carpenter inside is also an option

I'd be thrilled to have Porter on the Cowboys, they need a nasty vocal defensive leader and his superbowl ring will give him that much more cred with a new group to him.
