Donovan Ezeiruaku has been disappointing

I’m still high on EZ. The talent is obvious. But with rookie DC that refuses to be creative, we’ll never get the most from him.

My biggest disappointment. I would've taken him in the first that year. He has shown nothing of the pass rush that got him 16 sacks in college. Just an incredible disappointment from what I thought he would do.

Edges take time, so there's still a bit of hope. But that light better come on soon.

I’ve seen enough, Lawrence needs to be starting over EZ. This dude hop steps, then runs into the takle with a half *** bull rush…and that’s it. Saw several plays where once the tackle stopped him, that the end of EX rush….and couldn’t contain the edge either and the QB ran outside. I see no dynamic rushing or explosive speed around the tackle…at least the times i focused on him during plays.

Man, the Micah trade is an abject failure. Jerry’s ego ruined things again. Jerry said he traded him so we could get assets to stop the run. Here we are, run D is WORSE, pass rush is worse, total d much worse. We got nothing special in return, got worse, but gave up a hof trajectory player because Jerry butt hurt that Micah wanted to go through an agent.

I agree. The man has warning track power. He gets sooo close, but can't close the sack or bring down the runner. He's got pretty good technique, but he's a smaller guy to start but he also has zero football instincts for finishing a play. In college he had like 17 sacks in a season, but it was a smaller school/conference and this is the NFL.
Boston college, the ACC is considered a smaller conference?

How about Q will and the whole dline. We looked out muscled and out sized.

Everyone has been on defense. Even Barham and Down last game. Will McClay is heavily over-rated on defensive drafting.

I mentioned last night, but I know it's early, but he's been pretty disappointing so far. Not like he doesn't have a chance to standout as most of our DL/LB are mostly jags.

Side note, but has any team had worse luck with 2nd round picks than Dallas? Going back to 2010 these were our picks

2010 Sean Lee
2011 Bruce Carter
2012 No pick
2013 Gavin Escobar
2014 DeMarcus Lawrence
2015 Randy Gregory
2016 Jaylon Smith
2017 Chidobe Awuzie
2018 Connor Williams
2019 Trysten Hill
2020 Trevon Diggs
2021 Kelvin Joseph
2022 Sam Williams
2023 Luke Schoonmaker
2024 Marshawn Kneeland
2025 Donovan Ezeiruaku

Lawrence is the only decent one
Wow, the last 5 - YIKES. 4 swings and misses on D, no wonder our D is awful now.
You must define DECENT differently than me. Sean Lee wasn't DECENT? I get hes a disappointment because he's a - WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN IF NOT FOR INJURIES guy. When on the field he was more than DECENT. He was special and you knew it when you saw him play LB. I have to disagree with you on that. A few others on the list were DECENT too, just only for a few years like Lee, unfortunately.

The thing that’s frustrating about Eze is if he was able to finish by wrapping up it would look so much better. The pressure the plays etc… But he just can’t finish. I don’t know if it’s a strength thing or if he has small hands or what, but it’s frustrating to watch.

I’ve pretty much given up on Eze. That being said, I think the technique and scheme they are being taught and forced into makes ALL of the edges look terrible. It seems like they are reading and reacting instead of actually trying to get to the QB or setting the edge. This technique is putting the edges on their heels when they should be attacking the edge with speed and violence.

The jet sweep TD for Egbuka was the perfect example of low-IQ football. Eze literally watched Egbuka run right past him WITH THE BALL IN HIS HANDS and STILL continued looking into the backfield…
That's the same **** I see and have a hard time blaming it on the coach.

I just think they all suck regardless of coach or scheme.

For being great at drafting!! (Like everything else very overhyped). We have to be the worst team in the league for second round picks.
