Donovan Wilson should start

I hear you but the guy needs experience. If he is better (which looked obvious), he should start and then we will all see what he got.
Totally agree. Sometimes you focus on the rosy training camp and preseason because you are optimistic if instant results. Especially since it's needed right now. He'll grow and should be in there with our current roster as it sits

Thompson is bad. Wilson proved he’s the better player leading the team in tackles when he replaced him. He wasn’t perfect but he wasn’t awful either.

Let’s hope they feel the same way.
Im just waiting for a coach to make a right decision, if that decision is starting a player like Francis Bernard than live with it,, I will gain a bit of respect when I see at least a decision to be a leader.
I havent even seen that.. its like Im too scared to do anything attitude, and at this point that doesnt fly, it didnt two weeks ago, so lets at least have the fortitude to try something... hello.. mcFly...knock knock

Thompson is just like awuzie always there a tick late

I like Wilson in a SS role, he’s not a cover guy and even in his peak he just wouldn’t be great

Donovan Wilson flashed to me, literally. Dude flew into the screen on his Nick Chubb tackle (I think) and it was refreshing cause those other safeties aren't moving like Wilson...he wants to tackle/contact.

It might be beneficial for the young guys more because those guys will just learn the system and go, while, a couple older players may be out their comfort zone.

CB - Diggs
CB - Awuzie
CB - Brown
FS - Woods
SS - Wilson

I think this will be the lineup going forward once (if) they all get healthy. Also, I'd like to see how Wilson plays back deep in coverage with his arm length (33+) vertical (38.5) should be interesting.

I thought that was the plan at this point but I guess it hasn't been confirmed. If they bench Thompson and start him next game....what exactly is the point of this?

Wilson is going to have some issues coverage but I know he will at least tackle.
It's actually the opposite.

I have high hopes for Wilson. I think he has higher upside than Heath and I was saying Heath was a decent starter before anyone else. Only thing is when you have a decent starter the guy next to him needs to be actually legit. If Donovan turns out decent/slightly good we need to pair him with a safety with top end talent and not pair him with another 6th rounder/UDFA.

Cant be any worse than the horrid Heath and the horrid Thompson.

Well the coaches have been willing to shuffle around the offensive lines. Maybe that will extend to the defense.

In the Browns game he was very good in coverage but struggle with a large number of missed tackles.

Thompson's in the Jeff Heath zone, where he could be a good 3rd safety but is forced into being a bad starting safety. Might as well give Wilson a shot at this point, but I have to give the coaches some grief for putting Thompson in a position to fail to begin with.

You watch some of Thompson's open field tackles though... sometimes I get the feeling that he's the only guy on defense who knows how to do it.

Couldn't be any worse, could it?

Wait, it's the Cowboys, Could always be worse.
