I'm a Mavs fan...but

Dirk is simply a monster in the regular season. Get him in the post season and put a body on him and you make him a jump shooter. He plays at the arc and has no inside game where only the brave go during the play-offs.

Dallas also cannot stop an inside game, and Baron Davis beat them to the paint every time.

In Dallas Dirk is seen as Batman and Josh Howard is Robin.

Dallas had Batman and his name was Steve Nash. Dirk is a follower and not a leader.

That is why they lost.

What do the Mavericks have to do with the Cowboys?

The Mavericks are a very soft team, which is the opposite of how their coach played, which explains why he even called some of them out last year in the playoffs.

The Mavericks will not win anything meaningful unless they get a players that is as good or better than Dirk. Preferably a Post Player that can draw double teams and give Dirk opportunities outside, which is where he is most comfortable.

Also, if this team still had Steve Nash they would be even softer and still in the same position they are in now.
