Don't draft a QB this year

We should take Bosa if available because that guy will be a stud DE in the NFL. We should take a corner with round 2 and then whatever from there. I have my eye on Deshaun Watson from Clemson. I haven't watched him at all this season but last night he looked really good. He'll have another year to hone his craft and will most likely be a top pick in 2017's draft. If the Cowboys un/fortunate enough to be in a position to draft him (should he declare) the Cowboys need to a take a hard look at him.

No. Just NO. Unless you expect a 2-14 season next year, we will not be anywhere close to be able to draft a QB high next year, without selling the farm. This is by far the best chance we will have to get a top notch prospect in the draft. This is a QB league and our QB is closer to retirement than not so now is the time to get his replacement. I am not saying we have to take one at 4, we should trade back and pick up more picks and get one early second or late 1st if possible. And as far as Bosa goes, I will pass on him regardless.

I don't know if we should spend our first on a QB but we definitely should draft one.

I would be fine if Goff dropped to 4 and we take him. he has the highest upside of all of them this year. touch, arm, accuracy and reading defenses and making the throws. can sit behind room for a few years and learn.

Watson is a one-read QB, with running skills to make that work. Think Vince Young.

He may be a Heisman candidate, but I doubt he'll be very successful in the NFL.

I think you are selling Watson way short.

I agree with other people who say maybe trade back to later in the top ten, get more 3rd maybe 2nd round picks, and take a QB in the 2nd round if one is there. I just don't like this year's crop of QBs, but then again I am not a scout and only coach defense at the HS level, so QBs are not my forte. Now if you want to know about a DL, I'm your guy ;)

I agree. I think Watson has a lot of work to do before he's really considered a top pick next year. Great qb at the college level, but needs to be better in the pocket. The 2 point play from last night is a perfect example. His first read wasn't there so he took off around the right side. Mobility is great but you have to keep your eyes down field and think pass first.

I think Young was way better college QB than Watson in his last year at UT.

I think the FO has read the tea leAves on our QB situation, it's just a matter of QB evaluation now.

I hope so. I feel very few QB are NFL ready day 1 but often time are thrown into the fire right away. I see Dallas in a situation much like Denver, you have a young QB in the wings and your franchise QB still playing. I think this only benefits these young QB. Other position I expect them to start day 1 when selected 1st rd but at QB the transition from college to pro I think is a difficult one for most young prospect

My view is that if the QB doesn't have what it takes to a franchise QB then we should not even bother, the Dak prescotts of the world don't interest me.

Well if you think there is a player you think may have a shot, take him and develop him. I am sure nobody thought Romo had franchise QB potential either.

I agree with the premise of what you are saying...don't take a QB just to take one but I will be disappointed if we don't at least take a shot even if it turns out like another Stephen McGee.

I agree. We are beyond the stage that we should bother with big time projects like that.

The time to get a starting QB is the draft after Romo announces his retirement. The best place to learn how to play QB in the NFL is on the feild.
