Don't draft a QB this year

I want Patrick Mahomes in 2017. He will be top 5 pick next year.

What if we are not picking in the top 5?

What if a team in the top 5 needs a QB also and doesn't want to give him up? The Eagles offered 3 first round picks to the Titans for the 2nd overall pick last year to get Marriota and the Titans gave Chippy the middle finger and drafted Marriota for themselves.

See, its not as easy in real life as it is in Madden.

I think over half the QBs that won a Superbowl have been selected in the first round.

If this were true, he would have been the first player taken in the draft. Nobody knew how good he was, which is why he went #20 or so.

Get a QB high this year, learn from Romo how it's done for 2 years, and hit the ground running when Romo is finished. To me, that's the only way to go.

Rodgers was nearly the 1st pick in that draft... the 49ers had him and Alex Smith rated equal... although Rodgers was a hometown kid, the niners went with Smith... teams picking from 2 to 20 considered Rodgers a luxury pick, even Green Bay, more so than filling a need... neither QB was considered elite... Smith was thrown to the fire and struggled at first... I'm sure SF wishes they kept him, in hindsight.... we all know how long Rodgers sat... improving each year with mental reps until stepping in for Favre, at Dallas, and showing GB their future with his play.

The time to get a starting QB is the draft after Romo announces his retirement. The best place to learn how to play QB in the NFL is on the feild.

Well, once Romo gets another injury again, our new qb will get on the field.

According to NFL.com, 26 of 49 SB winning QBS were drafted in the first round... though several were not with their original team... by the way, the latest drafted SB winning QB would be Bart Starr in the 17th round.

There's an argument I keep hearing about how we should avoid drafting a QB because they are super hard to find. I don't really understand it.

Agreed.

He's hard to find so don't look.

Logically if something is hard to find, you put extra effort into the search, but not for some of the numpties around here.

Watson is a one-read QB, with running skills to make that work. Think Vince Young.

He may be a Heisman candidate, but I doubt he'll be very successful in the NFL.

100% correct. I watched the game and saw the same. Not an NFL quality qb and hes extremely frail. His build is so terrible that he may not survive the hits in the NFL. Reminds me of how Bob Three played at Baylor
