There's a group of posters who immediatly pounce on any negative news about a player and label them a bust. It's usually the same posters. The thrive on negativity.

We'll learn very quickly this season whether Claiborne is soft.

In this scheme he won't be able to hide from tackling like he did last year.

So....can you tell us where everyone else from last year's class finish their career? Who is going to the Hall? When will they finish playing? Which one of the players get into broadcasting? Who goes on to be a position coach?

I'm just asking because you seem very good at seeing the future 1 year into the draft classes' pro career.

I'm sorry, but it cracks me up whenever someone on an Internet forum calls an NFL player "soft."

Playing in the NFL and being "soft" is possible. That being said, everybody on this forum is obviously softer than any non punter/kickers in the NFL.

It's all relative. We are comparing a particular player with the majority of the NFL and making that assumption.

Not according to Jerry Jones, who said it doesn’t bother him that Claiborne will miss two preseason games due to knee tendinitis.

“The injuries that he’s having are not what you call the kinds of injuries that would be chronic [or] dealing with down the road to the extent "down the road" means opening night, so all of those things are not a concern,” Jones said. “We know the kinds of things he’s been dealing with.

Claiborne hopes to be cleared to practice Monday and play in the Cowboys’ first home preseason game. He recognizes the need for him to get practice reps, particularly after missing all of his rookie offseason and much of last year’s training camp.

“Any time you miss time, I feel like it’s valuable time,” Claiborne said. “At the same time, you’ve got to be ready for the season. I’m just trying to get healthy, as healthy as I can get. Obviously right now, I’m not in the shape to go play. I’ve got to just sit down and rest up and try to get myself ready.”

Dude just needs to get on the field already.

I have a hard time getting worked up about this one. From the sounds of things, he's absolutely dedicated and going head-to-head with Dez in practice. Dez thinks he's on the right path, that's pretty clear. If they guy's not too banged up, I don't mind him getting a few early veteran days. Especially when we've got other young CBs who can benefit from the reps.

If there were an issue, or he needed a scope or something this early in his career, I'd feel differently. Obviously, we want him to get as many reps as possible, but a week of camp isn't going to kill him if he's working hard and playing well the rest of the time.

This. The perception is that he is soft so we will find out in a hurry. It would be incomprehensible if Claiborne loses his job to a guy like Moore (a physical corner) who is said to be having a good camp.
