Don't like some aspects of this defense

Agreed. Defense looks good but this game would have been much tighter if they didn’t fumble literally one yard away from the end zone. They shot themselves in the foot more than we did today. That’s all the game showed me today. Both teams played horribly.

If you get to play the what if game can I play too? Does Browns fumble at the 1 yard count also? What if he scores there?

I’m watching game. Got lucky that fumble and other plays. Need play better and smarter. Getting decent lb would help immeasurably if not gonna get DT

Maybe our defense made them misfire. It wasn’t like they did it to themselves. Both teams fumbled inside the 5, that evened out.

They often played vs 3 WR set without using a Nickel CB. That often put Kearse in position to cover the slot WR. That's why they had him play off on those snaps.

They did it because Detroit is a better running than passing and they like 3 Safety sets vs the run.

They need to clean up their issues vs outside runs. Part of that comes from being overly aggressive rushing the passer which takes edge rusher out of position vs outside runs.

Both edge and interior run contain is inconsistent.

Coverage and pass rush are excellent.

The Lions were missing pieces, but weren't they the 3rd ranked offense entering the game? Defense has played really well overall, but it's unrealistic to expect complete domination week in and week out. They got a lot of turnovers today and made some critical stops especially on the goal line and that's what great defenses do.

Is it perfect? No, the secondary namely Brown didn't tackle very well and turned short gains into first downs. Also, the run defense didn't have its best game either.

Also Brown was playing softer than a roll of Charmin bath tissues.....10-20 yards back and then back pedaling at the snap. And his tackling was horrendous.

What are you talking about? We are holding teams under 17 points a game this season with a offense that has been so far subpar. Yes we need to tighten up the run defense, but when you hold Goff, Stafford, and Burrow to less than 20 points it says we are doing just fine.

Yes.

The defense is not perfect. But they are certainly good enough. And one of the top 3 units in the NFL, just like I said they'd be.
