I think alot of people in here over value draft picks. Yes, you build your team through the draft but sometimes you have to look at where your picking and make an honest assessment on whats best for your football team. I have seen many in here who say they will not budge at all with one of our first round picks for, in theory, a Roy Williams or Fitzgerald. I did some research and here are the selection from the past four seasons from 22-28(at the bottom). You cant tell me you would take any of those players over a Fitzgerald or a Williams.

So all you're basically saying is trade down or trade away for a top tier WR? That is unless someone is actually available at 22 and by then it can be to late. We undoubtedly are in a position to win now but I'm not 1000% now is in our best interest. I'd rather be a solid contender for a longer span. We lack quality depth in just a few keys areas; CB, WR, RB, ILB, SS, and OT if Flo walks. Not to mention a decent back up QB for insurance...

I might give as much as a 1st and a 5th for Fitz but wouldn't give more than a 2nd for RW, if push came to shove our 28th pick but no mas....

Roy is only 26; since in this day and age of the NFL you can only really expect to keep top players for one contract- we give him a six year deal and it works out just about right. PROVEN ability vs Crapshoot draft pick. A 26 year old player who has made the plays and done the deed vs someone who MAY be that- but NO ONE can say for sure.
Even the 22nd pick is not expensive for this guy.
