Don't panic if we lose

If we lose it is not cause for "the world is ending" posts. We've got a win over a divisional rival and 9-7 can easily win this division. It'll likely be between us and the Commanders (whom are 0-1 facing Green Bay, who are also 0-1, I'd expect 0-2 for the Skins).

If we win we'd be in a great position but I don't want us getting cocky or complacent - a close loss here may be the best thing for the team in the long run.

I can't ever think of a time where losing a game is a good thing unless you're already locked into the playoffs and losing kicks someone else out.

I say it depends on what happens, regardless of winning or losing. If we lose by giving up 400 yards and 4 passing TDs, then I'm going to be VERY concerned. Same thing if we win. If it turns out to be a shoot out with KC then I'll be VERY concerned as well, because we play teams with 4x the offense of KC.

It works both ways though. If we play very good football with minimal mistakes, but a freaky play at the end of the game causes us to lose, then I'll still be very optimistic about this team regardless of the L.

+1

Would love to see some crisp execution out of the offense, they have looked like the Keystone Cops for far too many years, and I would also love to see the secondary tighten up it's coverage. If the plan is to just let the other team play pitch and catch then we shoulda just kept Terrance Newman around. :p

From what I saw in week one the NFC East is wide open. The Cowboys need to pile up some wins early to give themselves a little room for error later in the season. They can't afford to dig an early hole for themselves like we've seen the past few seasons or they'll be up against it playing on the road against Chicago and Washington in Dec and Green Bay at home. The Cowboys don't have an easy schedule they need string some wins together early.

We won't lose.....

It won't be a Cowboys blowout like some seem to think. It'll be close but we'll be 2-0 at the end of it.

It'd be nice to play well and go 2-0. There's a lot of football left though.

Definitely disagree that a loss would be best for this team - I think this team's greatest struggle has been dealing with success and avoiding the 8-8 roller coaster.

I'm not going to panic if we lose because I respect KC and out-of-conference losses are the least damaging variety (although yeah, I'll be concerned if say, Alex Smith goes to town on our defense and we lose by more than one score). But it's important for this team to string some wins together early if they have designs on a playoff run, and that would involve winning this game.

I don't think there will be panic if we lose tomorrow, just disappointment. It's a long season.

There was panic when we beat the Giants.. I've seen panic in pre season game threads. No panic and CowboysZone does not go together.

Sounds like you already panicked because you think they are going to lose then started rationalize it.
