He wants to believe. Let him have at.

I encourage him to take his beliefs into the public.

I would love to read an elaboration of this theory.

You think they didn't know how to build wells? They knew about wells and had them. They had developed basic irrigation too (redirecting the Nile). Water doesn't prevent them from collapsing as an empire.

BTW, yes, it's easy to lose information in those days. This was before the Internet, printing press, limited schooling, invention of cheap paper, etc. This was the period of the very first written language. All it takes is the sacking of one city to lose a large chunk of knowledge.

There's also the Dark Ages as an example.

This is true. And once the information is lost, it can be very difficult to regain. For instance, during the Middle Ages, Charlemagne instituted the Carolingian revival, which was an attempt to bring back the lost architecture and technology of Ancient Rome and Greece.

Unfortunately, due to constant fighting with various tribes from the North and infighting amongst his own sons, the revival was never successful.

I know they don't I just had relatives who do missionary work in central america there helping them do what they could not do themselfs.

As for aliens that was more or less a joke all I do know is some of these areas in South America and Egypt produced some of the greatest works in architectural creations then all of a sudden it came to an end. As for the dark ages and the collapse of the Roman Empire there were still great works done during that period in regions that were once part of the Roman Empire.

Guaranteed it would include lego-men examples manipulated by Popsicle sticks.

Thousands of "our" years. Who is to say how an alien species may perceive time.

Exactly, i doubt they measure time in terms of how long it takes a planet not in their galaxy to go around its sun.

On a side note, there's some wacky Cowboy fans out there. :)
