Happy Galactic Alignment Day! Otherwise known as one complete galactic rotation...the complete precession (of the equinoxes)!

Only once every 26,000 years!

Can't wait for the next one!

Or maybe I can...

Anyway, the Road to Xibalba is now open for business! COME ON HERO TWINS! :)

Right. Or, viewed differently, the same frequency at which the Eagles win Super Bowls.

The Mayan calendar never claims the world would end. It just says that is the start of the new cycle. Which most people assume means the cycle of the calendar should start over. It wasn't until a Mayan expert claimed the world would end in the 60's that all of this crap about them predicting the apocalypse started.

Also,I don't believe the Mayan calendar utilized "leap years", so the end of days has already passed!

If the Cowboys beat the Saints, then lose to the Skins, the world ends on 12/30/12 (not really, but living in DC it might as well).

I'm sure there is a group of people hiding in a cave right now who are very disappointed by today’s lack of events. :laugh2:

The experts that interpreted the Mayan calendar were aware that the Mayans did not utilize "leap years" and calculated it into our system accordingly. So the end of that cycle had not passed.

I have had enough of the 24/7 the world is gonna end rubbish it aint we have been doing perfectly fine for 4 Billion years and now all of a sudden out of nowwhere the world is gonna end by the way it will be funny to see the look on the doomsday preachers faces friday morning

Actually.. that most likely is how its all going to end someday.. out of nowhere.

Some unpredictable event.. not some calender that's going to be able to predict the exact time and date the world is going to end.. that's the silly part.

Hard to believe anyone put stock in these people who, while predicting the exact day the earth would end thousands of years down the road, didn't see the Spanish coming.

The Mayans were brilliant.

Written language..architecture they are still trying to figure out how they built that back then...math..astronomy.

Don't remember what channel I was watching but current day Mayan time keepers say the ancients never did predict a end of days scenario.

I suppose it's whatever expert you choose to believe regarding ancient cultures but I find all that stuff fascinating. They were much smarter with much less than we are today.
