I'm buying what you're selling. I'm believing the hype.........so if they don't...I hold you accountable lol. I'm pretty excited though.

Its amazing that 2 months ago this thing was looking atrocious.......now it could potentially be a strength depending on guys hitting their ceiling.

Ro and Randy alone are going to wreak havoc..imagine if Sean can stay healthy?

I'm not holding my breathe on that but you know how it is in the NFL. Everything you expect to happen DOESN'T....I don't expect Sean Lee to stay healthy this year and he'll mess around and play 16 games. I'm excited. I'm not as confident in the linebackers as I was last year though. I wish we could've kept Durant or Carter or both. But if Hitchens can continue to progress it may not matter.

Kind of hate losing Durant myself...He was really good for us last year. Hitchens is the real deal though.

Yeah I just knew we'd get him for the low. Coming off the injury. I thought he was sort of a under the radar guy.......but everyone wanted to pluck everyone from this defense surprisingly.

I would love to think of what the defense could be if, and that's a pretty big IF, Sean could stay healthy.

It's just unfortunate to think that at some point he's going to catch the injury bug given his history. Here's hoping that at least for one season he can actually fight it off and see what our defense can be if he can play all season.

It's just a shame because the guy has so much talent when he's on the field.

I wouldn't call it Doomsday just yet. However, I will say that we are taking steps in the right direction! Another smart draft and manageable cap space going into 2016 can potentially make us a Top 10 Defense. We are finally becoming a well-balanced dangerous football team. Me likey!

As I watched the draft and the Cowboys 2nd pick was announced my jaw dropped laying on the couch.
We have really improved this team! Five years ago this rebuilding program began with the offensive line
and now the overall defensive unit ,wow. Now go find the fourth round RB! Iam thrilled.
The entire NFC East has been put on notice.

I'm hoping the defensive line makes the jump or offensive line did last off season.

I'm not sure the D-Line will be as good or anywhere near as close to what the O-Line is.

That does not mean they will not be good though. It's just our O-Line is on another planet. I think for once we will see consistent play from the D-Line at least.

The Cowboys have quietly put together a defense that could end up being a top 5 or top 10 defense.

In 2013 the Carolina Panthers had the 2nd ranked defense in the NFL (PPG) and Hardy was a major part of that. I think we probably still need to make a lot more investments in our secondary to properly replace Carr and Claiborne, but I think we have a working foundation right now, especially if the pass rush is what we think it will be.

The complement of rushers we can throw at teams throughout the game once Hardy gets back is going to be troublesome for teams. We have some of the best linebackers in the league on this team. The pass rush will make the secondary look a lot better, that being said Claiborne may never play again, and Carr never really fit this defense, and certainly doesn't for his current cost.

If Carr would take a pay cut this year, I wouldn't mind keeping him, but as it stands he needs to be cut in June. The problem is that leaves a pretty huge hole in our secondary. Stunned that the team didn't sign Tillman as a backup plan.

Jones - Wilcox - Church - Scandrick
Lee - MCClain - Hitchens
Gregory - Crawford - Brent - Hardy

No I don't expect it to be the best in the league but it doesn't have to be. I'd love to make a similar jump though.

We could get all the players from the best defensive line in football, and people would say, they're not sure how good our defensive line is going to be...

So does this mean the team has moved past DLaw? I think Lawrence starts and Gregory is 3rd down specialist when Hardy moves inside. However this does put writing on wall that Hardy is probably only a rental which is probably best.

this is really a good question
DLaw went from the future to part of a rotation
what a turn of events

I think we are stuck with him regardless, his salary is accounted for so as long as we are under the cap...does it matter how much he makes? Sure he is overpaid but we are better off with him, he was playing solid towards the end of last season and will be even better with a pass rush.
