OL + Murray = unreal and impressive that we converted every single short yardage run for first downs today....quite a few. I kept thinking surely a DL or blitzer will stop one 3rd and short....never!

Free has played very well, but I still think he's gone next year. Remember, the Cowboys tried to trade back into the third round this year for LSU guard Trai Turner. That tells me the grand plan is to move Zack Martin to right tackle next season.

It also tells me they weren't sure what Free they were going to get. However he has shown that it's not a huge priority to get rid of him. They have good chemistry.

Leary might be the most underrated player on the team. He was really good at the end of last season and has continued to play well this season. The media always attributes the success to the "3 first round picks", but Leary is also a big part of the success.

Leary was graded a first round talent without his "condition" I believe.

I hope the media rests the Watts for MVP crap, he did not dominate when the Texans needed him. Furthermore he looked like a flat out fool when Romo broke his tackle to launch a 30+ yd TD to Williams.

He sure plays like it. Guy is just as good as the other interior linemen. The only guy on the line who is far and away better than anyone else is Smith. Even Free isn't much worse than the rest of the line.

It's probably nothing you haven't heard before, but there are some good quotes in this article. A few of them:

"The key for Leary is his knee. Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones said the team gambled by not selecting an offensive lineman in the three-day NFL draft because they figured Leary would not get drafted. Leary's knee issues scared off several teams."

"The issue for him is how long [he can play], it's not now. It's how long he can play," Jones said Saturday night. "That's why he fell the way he fell. We had our coach think he might be the readiest of any [drafted] offensive linemen."

"Here's a guy who gives us a chance to [play him] now," Jones said. "It helped me because there's risk here, and it helped me talk about [playing] now as opposed to development. He can get in here and play now."

We must of watched different games, JJ Watts injured was all over the field and was demanding attention on every play he was in the game. We did negate most of his speed and power but it took multiple men to neutralize his talent.

I'm sure we can find a good guard with the 32nd pick .....

Playoff! Playoff! what do you mean playoff!! If you mean we traded down to get a player then I would agree. Playoff! Playoff! . . . . . . . .

Rebuilding this defense is a bigger priority than replacing Free. Signing him to a two year deal allows us to focus on defense next year, and then draft his replacement in 2016.

If all goes as well for the rest of the season, there is no need to prioritze replacing Free. But as mentioned, we do need depth. Sign free to an 2 year deal. See if we can finally develop a RT, if Martin isn't moved there. I prefer Martin at OG, bring along an OT.
I'm tired of the Parnell / Weems project.

As for JJ Watt, good game, bad game, who cares, he was not a difference maker in the game. He played decent for having a hip injury, and won't take that away from him, but won't take it as an excuse either, of why he did't take the game over. He's an excellent DL, MVP candiidate, maye. But he's not superman either.

Cowboys had too many missed opportunities and turnovers. Romo even punked Watt, and threw a TD to TWill. It was great.
Romo doesn't throw the pick in the redzone, I think Cowboys could have went on to win without OT.

Just wanted to say that Free has played well. Really liked the fact he took Watt and drove him then turned to seal the edge on some run plays today. He played very well in pass protection and him and Martin seem to play well together. One example was when we were backed up against our goal line and Martin knocked Watt off balance and Free cleaned it up.

I still feel we need a RT in next year's draft but felt that Free deserved credit that since we all bashed him this week before he even played.

I love this OL

I even saw them leave Witten on Watt a couple times.

I think there's two options. We move Martin outside and draft/sign a guard or we sign Free. I think either way works.

I don't like the idea of messing with success. Rather leave Martin at G.

That's a good question. I didn't think that they did, but maybe someone can clarify.
I just looked and I can't find anything about it.

The only thing I'm finding is that just the first year of the salary was guaranteed. Guess I mixed it up.
