Down graded expectations

Before Sunday, everyone was buying the cheese, thinking superbowl. Now since the game. People realizing. It’s new players, new coaches and they are willing except this season will not even end in the playoffs. Even Jerry said yesterday that , he is not expecting much from this team. So my question is.
Where did your high expectations come from? What happened to them? Don’t blame Jerry he did not hype this team this year. Discussions?
 
My expectations are the same. 9-8. we will struggle but get hot down the stretch and get a wildcard. Any SB talk was and is outlandish. I said it during camp and stand by it now.

Many expect a playoff appearance. And that can still happen. Week 1, come on.

There is no way you can watch what happened Sunday and think this team is anywhere near smelling the playoffs. Unless you agree that it’s fixed. At one point the giants ran the same play four times in a row that scored a td as your vaunted camp hero barnham is giving up on the play. So which is it. You decide

I did not say that. Week 1, a lot of football left to be played.
This team is not as bad as they looked. But many fans seem to be happy about it.
 
..the silver lining in this. They lost by a score.

But because NYG stayed on field so long, the NEW defense was not suppose to let that happen.

Thats the conjecture on this, or over-reaction.

All we can do, is wait how they respond Sunday.

PS ...the super bowl idiom is every year for every team. Dallas beat some life into it, by getting DC and players.
 
Before the first game I had this prediction

8-9

NY - W
Wash- W
Rav - L (this one is close)
Tex - L
Bucs - W
Pack - L
E-gal - L
Cards- L (Cards always beat us)
Colts - W
49'rs - L
Titan - W
E-gal - W
Sea - L
Rams- L
Jags - L
NY - W
Wash- W

Then they lost to the giants ......... If we lose to the Wash ........ I will start to think my expectations were maybe to high.
 
Everyone needs to remember its a 17 game season and we have a lot of new pieces that need to come together...they will end up in the playoffs

Reasonable people believed the Defense would be better (how could it not?) and that it would be hard for the Offense to replicate what it did last season. Therefore expectations to a lot of us was in the middle. I personally hoped/thought the Defense would get to just Average because of all the changes. That would be huge but here we are...

Not True. The hype was over the top.

There was never 'everyone'. A viewpoint can always be made without exaggerating. It is not hard. In fact, it is easy.

Look, nobody wants to admit they were wrong. Even Jerry himself had to take back some of his expectations. In his interview yesterday. He said “ there has not been this much change since 1989.” He went one to say “ we won one game that year.” I take that to mean if this team only wins one game, he will not be overly surprised. This is Jerry and his big ego, telling us. This is a bad team. They know it. So. Will you ride with a 1-16 team, expect they will be bring back all the coaches or bail?

Yes, there is a way. You obviously didn't notice the rest of the league.
