ROUND 1
Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE UCLA

Perfect fit for the Cowboys on the strong side. Dallas cleaned house on that side so drafting a guy would make alot of sense. He has a NFL ready body and has the skills to start day 1. Very good against the run, and above avg in rushing the passer according to scouts. But you watch him play and he was just too strong for OTs in college and got pressure. Dallas needs this kid, Hardy will most likely miss games, and for damn sure dont want Lawrence and Mincey starting. Thats a lost cause at DE.

ROUND 2
DAL TRADES WITH NO
NO gets DAL RD2(60) RD3(91) 436pts
DAL gets NO RD3(75) RD3(78) RD6(187) 436.6pts

ROUND 3
TJ Yeldon RB Alabama

Big RB, not the bowling ball runner Lacey is, but doesnt lack strength. Dont forget bout the Garrett Sabin connection. Would make a nice 1-2 punch with McFadden.

ROUND 3
Josh Shaw CB USC

Shaw actually has an advantage over all CBs in this draft with the Cowboys, as he has played in the defense Dallas runs. And played for their ex DC. He plays smart and disrupts routes, would be a perfect fit to plug him into the slot right away.

ROUND 4
Tyeler Davison DT Fresno State

Big strong and nasty. Was double and triple teamed on almost every play basically and still got 8.5 sacks for the bulldogs. Could be the Booger McFarland type this DL needs.

ROUND 5
Cedric Reed DE Texas

People forget how disruptive he was his JR yr. He played his senior yr with a torn meniscus. And scouts and media were bashing him on his unproductive yr. Think he is going to give some team a very good rotational DE. Id like to see him as a situational passrusher on the strong side. Because he doesnt have the speed to play WDE in the NFL but he has the length and the game to play the run on the strong side.

ROUND 6
Chris Hackett S TCU

Needs work but he made plays with 12 ints. Could contribute on ST develop.

ROUND 7
Adam Shead OG Oklahoma

Dallas seems to pluck late round OL every yr.

ROUND 7
Nick Marshall CB Auburn

Made the switch to CB after playing QB. Impressed at the combine. But needs work. Good candidate for the PS. Very good size for a CB, could even end up playing FS.

Shaw scares me a little.

In the games I've watched, he doesn't turn his head around when the ball's in the air. He got away with a lot of faceguarding, and those will be PI's at the next level.

Good job. Only one I am not really sure on is OO.

Face guarding isnt a penalty in the NFL. He doesnt make alot of contact when doing that. He's a really smart player and learns from his mistakes quick.

Odighizuwa ive mocked him all year and still like him. The question with him would obviously be his hip surgeries, but the guy played all of 2014 without any mishaps. Was a real beast. IMO starter from day one at SDE for this team.

Lawrence is a lost cause and you don't want him starting?

Or did you mean just at the strong side? Cause if we are writing off rookies, particularly on the DL, after one year, I can guarantee you that your going to be done with OO after next year too.

Taking a strong side DE with our first round pick just screams desperation and drafting for need to me. No thanks.

He passes the eye test. Watching him reminds me of Ware. That's my issue . Looks great but minimal sack #s. There's a disconnect there. Was it his scheme?

Well they moved him around alot. Played alot on the weakside. He needs to be on the strong side.

I'm coming to the realization Gurley won't be there for the Cowboys. :(
I'm coming to the realization that we will take one of the second-tier backs. I really don't have a problem with Yeldon. He has enough wiggle to run behind our line. Get him in the weight room and get him stronger so he won't be as injury prone.
Overall, I like your mock draft. You've address our needs fairly well.
This is the first year I'm really excited about this draft in that I believe the picks in this draft will contribute greatly to our team and could - dare I say, will - push this team over the top and into the NFC Championship at the very least.

We had two shots to get there and came up short both times. Hit on this draft, and I see we get there with easy.

UCLA plays a 3-4 and he was their DE not OLB, so yes, it was the scheme. If you watch him enough you'll see that it's not very often that his 1st priority was to rush the passer. He set the edge and played contain 1st most of the time.

He played Safety in previous years. I think he is an option at either CB of Safety in the NFL.

With his size and athleticism, if he was polished in regards to issues like turning his head, he was be gone before the late 3rd.

Not a big fan of that mock or trade.

I do like Davison in the 4th though.

Yeldon in the 3rd isn't too bad either but not my favorite choice in the 3rd.

Marshall in the 7th would be ok too.

The trade isn't the way I'd go.

You could draft a 2nd round player and then a 3rd round player and you would probably get better players than Yeldon and Shaw. All you're really gaining is a 6th rounder and it just wouldn't be worth it, IMO.

If my GM traded out of the second round to move up 12 spots late in the third I would be sharpening my axe.

Not a very big fan of your last four picks but love the Davison pick. Good job though.

I like it very much overall, but I'm not sure if the trade is truly worth it. I think you could get better value in rounds 2 and 3 by staying put. And if you really wanted Hackett in round 6 there's a better way to get him.

I'm not sure Shead has the feet and ability to get to the second level necessary to do everything that this offensive line is asked to do.

But overall, I love it and think you did a very good job. I wouldn't complain too much with this haul.

Lawrence is a tweener right now. The guy will not be a good guy to have in their on first and second down at WDE. And sure as hell wont be a good idea to put him in at first or second down on the strong side. He has twigs for legs. Dallas gambled on him because they were desperate for a passrusher. But they got a tweener who should probably be a OLB in a 3-4.

And yes i mean Lawrence on the strong side would be a lost cause. Lawrence was brought in to play RDE, but IMO thats out of the water because Hardy is going to occupy that spot for years to come for the Cowboys. Lawrence played in enough games to atleast challenge Mincey for the starting spot, but never even got a wiff at starting. And before the playoffs Mincey was bad.

This yr its really hard to get a grasp on what Dallas is going to do. They could pick DE, LB, RB, CB, WR if the right player is there at 27. And the same with the next few rounds after.

I would just advise people to look at them downs where he's in a 4man front at UCLA and you will get another opinion of his rush skills.

I really dont think there is much difference in players that are most likely going to be available from 60 to 75 & 78.

But i do think there will from 60 to 94
