Down the Stretch Mock

obviously it was a figure of speech. But he has small legs in reguards to DEs. him standing next to mincey you notice a difference. Hell you notice the difference with him standing next to rolando McClain.

Lawrence is a lost cause...

Ridiculous. I can't even respond to that.

Mincey is built like a DT or a very large SDE. He has no explosion. He has also been in an NFL program a lot longer. One of the biggest strengths people mention about Lawrence is his frame. He can put on a lot more muscle. He won't be the same player this season.

I get it. You really want OO. That's cool. Your statements about Lawrence are just absolute mockery though.

I don't see OO being the top-rated guy available at #27... consequently he won't be chosen by the Cowboys.

For the record, I like the draft outside of the first round. I think Peters will be there though and I think he is Dez Bryant like value at that spot.

That trade down only works if I'm on the clock and have maybe 8-12 players all lumped in the same tier. Then the risk is low.
Or maybe if there are no players left that you like at 60...so the tier that fits there is depleted.

That happens way prelate in the 1st that late in the 2nd. The tiers tend to get wider as you move deeper in the draft (ex. Dallas usually only has 20 or so 1st round worthy players but maybe 35 2nd rounders and 40 3rd). Just an estimate

With his size and athleticism, if he was polished in regards to issues like turning his head, he was be gone before the late 3rd.
True..

I like everything else about his game, so I wouldn't hate the pick. But I guess the question is, how confident are you that he can correct locating the ball at the next level? I mean it's a pretty glaring flaw, and it's not as simple as "turn your head around."

I'm confident as long as Dave Campo is not his coach. Scandrick got much better at it after Campo was gone. Some people believe that Campo coached them not to turn their heads.

Are we trading down for the neck of it? Usually the person moving down makes out like a bandit. And it's usually a 2 for 1 deal. So our #60 for their 3rd and a 4th would be better for moving down 15 spots in the top 100 picks. I like OO, but there better not be Peters or Gordon or Brown available at #27.
