How could you at the very least noy wish Deuce future success? What did he do to you? He's was a low cost, low round draft pick who had college success in spades. It hasn't translated for a myriad of reasons. Is it because of perceived nepotism? A Jerry pr move? A progress stopper? Be upset with Jerry not Deuce for he did nothing less than any fan on this board with the opportunity presented before him would do. I'm happy Deuce got released and hope he catches on somewhere no matter the league and sees success.
Does he care about my future success, or yours?

Does any player?

I understand what you guys are saying about Martin but maybe most people weren’t as harsh because they felt like he already paid his dues, at least I did. He played at a high level for damn near a decade and never had any drama off the field. zeke on the other hand, had played what 3 friggin years before holding out and surrounded himself with drama from day 1. Parsons is on year 4 and seems to care more about his “brand” than football.
I know it happens on a rare occasion. But there is no room for thank you money in the NFL.

It's not just that. People don't realize how bad of a precedent that sets. The other holdouts were asking for more money in the future. That will always happen. But you can't have guys wanting to tear up their current deal for more money.
By not playing out they’re rookie contract that’s exactly what they’re doing. By not playing on the franchise tag, that’s what they’re doing. At least I can give Dak credit for that, he didn’t ***** and moan about the tag and it worked out in his favor.

Limited Diggs if he plays at all
Bland
Elam
Steward 7th rounder with very little actual game play
Bridges

I know many if you are upset about DT spot. But CB was my biggest concern and nothing to really improve has been done.

I know we have Diggs returning and Revel maybe coming. But this is pretty bad spot to be in.

Frustrating as a fan.

Let's hope for an injury free game there. Maybe after week 1 they add Gilly or a vet.

Sorry I had the jump on the title misspell lol

wasnt it already stated that we're gonna be a run first team? Or is my old age playing tricks on me?

The rookie contract never goes away no matter what happens. They all play out their rookie contract. If Parsons got paid today, his extension starts in 2026.

Billy Bates his entire career...take your pick , he has tons of gnarly hits. To me, only he and Cliff Harris can take claim to the hardest hitting I've ever seen.

When Zeke held out after 2018 with two years left, his extension didn't start until 2021. You don't get to delete or replace your rookie deal.

So far all I've seen from the secondary is sitting beyond the sticks on third down.

When Quinn got here the defense was horrific. He couldn't change their skillset but he played to their strengths. So far I've only seen the scheme matters more than the guys playing it. I hope it's not the same once the season begins
In this scheme and under the current staff, the current defensive tackles combined with the current linebackers will stabilize the run defense and put games in the hands of the offense.

That is using reason and player knowledge instead pessimism and years running doubt. Sorry...that lies to an observer.

What did the Ravens do to the Dallas defense? That is most current and indicative when added to the real starters.

The defense that will be shown at least 60% of the time and show a series of faster defensive linemen and still be quite effective. Linebackers can fill in on double teams and off the line of scrimmage, speed still stops a run hole.

Osa Odighizuwa
Mazi Smith
Solomon Thomas
Perrion Winfrey

On a whole game basis, this group can carry that kind of load.

This unit backs up that group:

Linebackers (5)

Kenneth Murray Jr., Marist Liufau, Jack Sanborn, Damone Clark, Shemar James

With Overshown headed to PUP, this linebacker group takes shape around Kenneth Murray Jr., who was signed to bring speed and range in the middle.

Marist Liufau stood out with his instincts and special teams ability in his second season. Jack Sanborn is a tackling machine who solidified his role as a dependable reserve.

Damone Clark is expected to take another step forward after showing flashes of sideline-to-sideline speed last season.

Rounding it out, Shemar James provides physicality and projects as a strong depth piece.

I think this was a mistake by Parsons' agent.

Parson and his agent are so focused on getting paid this year without playing that they just gifted Jerry with a reason to justify not offering him a new contract at this time.

They just publicly announced Parsons has back issues that may linger so Jerry can use that now to justify not offering him a long term contract since he's already under contract for this year.

A pass rush specialist who's only 26 years old and already suffering back issues is a red flag for a large, long term contract.
Exactly.......this was my confusion in the OP. Why would you try and prove you have serious back issues during a nasty negotiation with your team? You just gifted Jerry with an ace card

.... I know they are many, but which one for you still stands out?

Mine: Dallas Vs Nola 2019

Saints RB Kamara takes hand off, to outside. Jaylon Smith comes down like freight train, whacks him on side of helmet.
Kamara staggers getting up, walking dizzy, side to side. I thought, oh man, that's gotta be flag. Nothing, ref working on Cola Slurpee.
There was a hit Woody put on Rodney Pete in a WC game against the Eagles. Pete was scrambling for a first down and Woody hit him about a half a yard shy. Ive never seen a human being stop so abruptly

Who said I was pro paying Zeke how it happened?

I simply gave you what turned me sour on Mecah.
That’s why I said if I understood it correctly, I didn’t mean to say you did. I understand why Micah turned you off but did zeke to the same degree?

Yeah, for me it was Roy. There was one where Newman was defending the pass right on the sideline and the receiver was still focusing on the ball and Roy just destroyed him.

Then another on a kickoff when Baldinger was on the call and going crazy.

Roy was unbelievable.
The kickoff one you mentioned here is exactly the first play that came to my mind

Yes, but they are still refusing to play a contract that they agreed to unless they get guaranteed future money, that’s still breaking the contract.
