I hope this is true. I don't think Ware is washed up like some do. We need him at 100% though.

I wouldn't say he's washed up...i'd say he's still effective but on the downside of his career and now becoming oft-injured. I keep harping about trading him (along with several others here) while he still has value because A) maybe we can get some good picks for him while he's still producing and before he is fully washed up in a few years and B) we can unlock the glut of salary cap space he's consuming.
Are we better when he's on the field, absolutely, but would we be better served in the long run by trading him...?

Speaking of Wilcox and Heath, I see a bit of deja vu as perhaps the starting safeties for this team next year.
I remember Charlie Waters and Cliff Harris as rookie safeties. Cliff Harris got drafted into the ARMY and Waters started as free safety. When Harris came back he stepped right into that position and there didn't seem to be a bit of difference between them. They tried Waters at corner, but he was clearly not a corner. When they moved him to safety, paired with Waters, they became the most awesome pair of safeties I have ever seen play. It was like they were clones, reading, reacting, and playing together on every play.

The people who called him washed up are expecting 30 sack seasons out of the guy which is unreasonable. Ware was on pace for double-digit sacks and was grading out as a top five 4-3 End when he went down. Getting him back will be massive.

I am quite possibly one of those who thinks Ware is on the downside of his career.. More than anything, it has to do with his durability at this point. He is just always hurt..

Still, no one can deny that he does disappear in games.. I haven't seen an actual dominant performance from him in some time. I don't expect 30 sacks.. He can be "on pace" for whatever. Doesn't mean jack when he is in civies on the sidelines..

I do agree getting him back will be a good thing. It will at least give the opposing offensive something or someone to think about and plan for. I just hope he can stay healthy for the rest of this season.

Literally every pass rusher is going to disappear in games. Cameron Wake led the NFL last year with 86 total pressures on the quarterback. That's going to amount to 5 pressures a game. Ware is averaging 4.5 pressures this year even counting his 6th game in the equation, and was playing very good run defense.

We need somebody to contain the edge, Wilber, although playing better, is a liability vs. the run.

I wonder can you now afford to not play Ware as much as you do? Especially with how Brown played? I think at DE Ware has been playing probably too many snaps and coming back from injury we should try and work him in slow. I wonder does it benefit him as well? >

Jerry on Dez not knowing he couldn't take helmet off: "When players dont know rules that's a joint fault of coaching as well as the player."

Well, I will be damned! I was trashed for saying that Dez not knowing that rule was on the coaches. Maybe Dez should have known that, but still, the rule book should have been the first thing that players, vets and rookies, should go over before they even have their first OTA.

So, to all of those that dogged me, I say....and the horse you rode in on! lol
