draft a qb?

Honestly Id like an all out blitz at getting Brady Quinn.

You trade up for Brady Quinn.

Sign a couple free agent linemen.

Draft a receiver in 09...

we're set...

i definitely think we should go for one this next year. There's no way we get Quinn, and it would be stupid to trade up high enough to get him. If we were to trade up that high i would go for Calvin Johnson, but that's all beside the point because we won't trade up anywhere near that high.

I say we go for a QB first day, maybe not round 1, as i think we should get a monster OT or OG there.

I would love to go after Jamarcus Russell in round 2. I think he could be developed into a very good QB, as he has a rocket arm, he thinks pass first and runs only when he has to. And from what i've seen of him he can do well with lots of different throws.

This Kevin Kolb kid from Houston is putting up HUGE numbers...interesting kid to follow. Has the physical tools.

I have a feeling a good QB will slip to our draft slot.

Quinn hasn't been that great. Certainly not Heisman great, which everyone was thinking would make his draft slot that high.

Brohm has been injured, so he could slip.

Stanton or Palmer may be impressive enough to be first round talents in combines and workouts.

I do think we definitely need to draft someone this year.

Set? For when? 2010?

when do you guys think we will draft a qb? 2014? later?

I draft one next season regardless of Bledsoe and Romo. I think having another option on the team learning behind Bledsoe and or Romo would be the right thing to do. I clearly don't want to be put in a situation where we are just forced to throw a rookie out there.

nope i think romo the future

I think Romo has a real chance, but I wouldn't be opposed to hedging our bets and using a draft pick on a QB. Not too high - maybe 3rd round - but even if Romo does pan out we will need a backup.

I like Kolb but Houston runs a very unorthodox offense so are you looking at very good QB skills or a QB who is putting up numbers because of the system ala Andre Ware and David Klingle?

That's what makes this type of analysis difficult...Texas Tech schools etc...

I think we've learned there are no sure things in a draft...and to put all of your eggs in one basket is crazy.

To be honest I would love to draft two prospects and see who pans out...you have kids like Kolb, Palmer, Edwards, and Stanton for that matter who have potential, but who has what it takes to be a good NFL QB???

I say take two of them and see who pans out...cause we know what we are doing now is flat out scary, and if it does not pan out with Romo we are hurting for a few years.

It is hard to say. I doubt he will be a 1st rounder like those guys and may be worth a later round pick. Dallas does not need to just count on a 1st round draft pick. They need to put together a few options and I include Romo as one of those options as well.

As I said I like Kolb and there are some others I like as well who will be coming out who could be found outside of the 1st rd. I do think things like the senior bowl will be important for Kolb because it puts him in more of a pro set style of offense and will give scouts a better ideal of his talent.

I agree, I'm not talking about 1st rd selection for a QB unless one of the tops fall in our laps. I don't expect to have a high #1 next year.

That is the key right there...

I have some requirements though:
~ No one named Drew
~ No one named Chad
~ No more ex-baseball players
~ No one wearing #7

Sorry, but for obvious reasons I have a tainted opinion with the above characteristics. :laugh1:

That would be nice! Romo is such a hit that nobody else is needed for at least eight years? Is that what you expect? Good for you.
