Don't wanna be picky here but isn't the counter wrong? Correct me if I am wrong but it's almost 9amEst and wouldn't that mean the draft is in 19 days and 3 hours and not 6 hours? Sorry if this seeme to be too pick for a post but I have been waiting a long time for this draft and I don't want to wait 3 hours longer than I have to lol:laugh2:

I thought the draft generally starts at 12:00 noon ET, I may be wrong, but... I believe it will start at noon ET.

And you'd be wrong, I don't know why, but this year it starts at 3PM ET. Maybe the 2 round first day and the shorter first round (10 minutes to pick vs. the previous 15 minutes)?

I think, in this case, the NFL is pandering to the fans, shorter first round, west coast friendly start time (acceptable to start a party at noon, not so much at 9).

The countdown is correct. The Draft starts at 3:00 PM Eastern this year. The first round will be 10 minutes per pick. The 2nd round will be 7 minutes. There will only be 2 rounds on day 1 this year.

Yes, there were discussions to move round 1 to Friday Night prime time, but that didn't happen for this year.

For every thing the NFL does right, they do something wrong.

It was right to shorten the 1st rounders to 10 minutes, but then they screw it up by moving the start time to 3:00 and having only two rounds.

I think putting the third round in the second day will help teams better prepare for that round giving them time to settle down and study their boards.

I love it, now I can get something done that day and also watch the draft. With TIVO I can probably start the thing at 4:30 and be up to live time by the time the Cowboys pick.

I loved the fact that the draft started "early", it has always been like Christmas in April for me. I would be up most of the night before and wake up EARLY that morning. So, now it's like waking up Christmas morning and not opening presents until after lunch. My wife and daughters go stay with the in-laws for the weekend and my 4 brothers and I live on JWBlack, Shiner Bock, and countless pizza deliveries for 2 days. My entire working life I have made it a point during job interviews to guarantee that I would be off for Draft Weekend as a condition of accepting a position .
