Based on the 53 Man roster today, what NEEDS to you guys see for next years draft? This team feels absolutely stacked right now with a lot of IR and PS guys to be excited about.

My assessment of Draft needs:
QB:
None
RB: Day 2/3 Heavy Back
FB: None
WR: None (Bless you Tolbert)
TE: None
OT: Day 1/2 Guy to compete with Asim Richards AND Day 2/3 guy to compete with Bostick as swing tackle
OG: None (Bass and Ball looked solid)
C: Day 3 backup center with OG flex

DE: None
DT: Day 1/2 3T to complement Osa
LB: None (not with Overshown returning)
CB: Day 2/3 depth guy
S: None (stacked)

What say you?
How can one reasonably expect know who to draft next year when you haven’t even seen this team play yet?

You cant, that’s why speculation is fun. If you already knew the right answer, there’s no point in having a discussion about it

Good list. Gotta believe a couple of these guys get resigned.

Also hoping John Stephens becomes a hybrid TE/ big receiver next year.

The hope is they re-sign some guys, and I forgot about Stephens already...he would fill that role without any further resources.

Question I have is, will Cooks/Gilmore just be here for this season due to their age and contracts? If Gilmore departs, corner moves atop of the list. Thinking OL, RB (will Pollard get another contract) and Corner.

Cooks is on a 2 year deal, he will play here next year. I think Gilmore signs another 1 year deal after this one but Pollard is most likely going elsewhere. They have to pay Lamb and Parsons, they're not going to pay a running back too.

Throw in they likely will resign Dak as well. Some big contracts should start coming off the books in Tyron, DLaw. Think next year the priority needs to be at Guard.

BPA, always.

Biaditz is up, and if someone is willing to pay him $8-$10M/yr, he's gone. There are a # of good centers next year.

I expect a couple of OL next year.

Will be interesting to see what happens with Gilmore. Great player, but you don't give big $ to a CB who will be 33.

You mean BPA (inc QB, if the Dak scenario isn't resolved).

WR is definitely a need.

It's a need every year, but you could lose Cooks and Gallup after next season, so they should prep for it with a high pick now.
WR is high up on the list of possibilities. Lamb is gonna have an extention kick in at some point and both Cooks and Gallup are likely gone within two years. Tolbert looked much better in preseason but we still dont know much about him at the NFL level yet. Brooks...you are really winning if he becomes a #4 by the end of his rookie deal. " With two starters expected to depart between 2024 and 2025, Cowboy fans should really expect a top 60 pick to be invested in WR

If Gilmore has a strong year, can he cash in of will teams see it as a Richard Sherman 2019 situation.

Odds are he won’t be back as they just paid Diggs and cannot afford two high paid corners with the pending contracts upcoming. They are going to need a future starter, where I believe Bland is much better as a slot.

I would now revise my OP to say I think C might be a priority next year. Tyler B wasn’t very impressive in the Giants game, and if a T Fred/Kelce type C is in this draft (even in the 1st), I’d pull that trigger

Bland is going to be a starter, he is just going to move inside when teams go to 3 and 4 WR sets. He'll play boundry when the team only needs 2 CB's on the field. He is a better slot CB, but there is no reason he can't play boundry when only 2 CB's are needed (which is maybe 30% of the time)

Cedrick Van Pran is the only C currently in PFN's top 100. Still very very early, but considering the position I dont see major movement as the season progresses.

However I think Van Pran is definitely worthy of a late 1st. PFN has him at 40(or close) , but I think he is a better prospect than Linderbaum was. Kind of reminds me of Maurkise Pouncey

I’m sure a clear cut need will reveal itself this year, but with Overshown on this team and Stephens as a potential future hybrid TE/WR, I don’t see a lot of holes. Not just holes, but places where draft picks could overtake a role. Depending on where Tyler Smith goes, maybe OT/OG, but Richards and Bass are promising, and Ball played amazing at OG in preseason.

Center might be the position where you can get an immediate upgrade over your current starter.
