First of let me say that i think this is my first thread started, as i just always lurk and sit back and observe and watch others talk and just enjoy it all. I love the forum and get on it numerous times every day of my life. Beyond that i hate our season is over but enjoyed watching our Cowboys play and always cant wait till the next.
This is not a Romo hating thread nor to any player on the team, its just for fun and to see what everyone thinks of different scenerio's. I know there are a lot of Romo haters on the forum and i cant say that i have never said anything negative cause i have. We all just want a QB that always performs and dont mess up, which doesnt exist in this world so..... However i do they he is a very good QB, that there is better but so much worse. Him compared to guys like a P. Manning or a Brady which have had much success, i think that he does lack certain things that top tier QB's have that are drafted early. Now not all top drafted QB's make it but the odds are better if you look at the ones drafted at top of the charts. Let me repeat myself this is NOT a romo hating thread i just want to see what everyone would do. If you have the power and control of the Dallas Cowboys would you trade your entire draft, or entire draft plus next year's certain picks for Andrew Luck. You hear so many things that he is literally a once every decade or two type player and you knew he WOULD be what everyone thinks he will be, would you be willing to set the team back another 1 to 2 years for a top tier, possibly SB caliber type player???? I know no one but the lord knows what kind of succees this guy is going to have in his career but it is fun to sit and think about it.
Please no smart a** answers. This is just for fun guys and gals

No. Too many holes to fill. The QB position didn't keep this team from the playoffs, the defense did.

Agree with you on this aspect. In we will say 5 years you will be looking for a QB anyways to replace Romo so you are then most likely going to be on losing season anyways. Would you rather to start now or then. I think the defense is bad and needs major help, but getting a player like luck woul solidfy that position for a decade or better.

The offensive line did.

Right...and the OL....but need to fix the defense first.

It would take more than our entire draft to land Luck.

It would take this year's entire draft, and the first and second round picks for the next two years as well.

Hey, you said yourself that only The Almighty knows the future. How would you know for sure Luck is the answer?

Romo's time is coming to an end but that's no reason to focus on his replacement now when this team has other immediate needs.

Oh i agree with you and i did say that. Others and just like myself think this guy could be a very special player. If we all knew who would be great and not so great we would know who to draft and who to let go.

There is so many holes. The defense, offense, coaching. Where do u start????

team needs

a center
two guards
a tightend
two corners
a defensive end
a monster nose tackle
an outside linebacker
two inside linebackers
two safeties

good luck filling those holes in one offseason with 25 million of dead money against the cap....

Fix the "big uglies" and this team gets a whole lot better a whole lot faster. If you can protect the QB, the wr's get better, the rb's become better, the QB gets A LOT better.

If you can put consistent pressure on the opposing QB without having to blitz all the time, the secondary improves instantly.

Just a silly question because we dont know. BUT if you knew there's a chance he was and is what we think he will be, are you willing to sacrifice a season or two to get one of the major key pieces to the puzzle. Use FA to do what you can to address holes in the OL and defense and use future draft's to address the needs.

The Giants showed us again the best way to make an average team competitive is with a superior pass rush. The Giants have five guys that can get to the QB consistently. How many do the Cowboys have?

I'd start with a stud d-lineman who can collapse the pocket.

Every year from game to game from draft to draft its always the same stuff we say we need. Its a db, or a player or two for the OL, and always and i say always someone at safety. It honestly never ends

They have consistently one. Does the draft have a guy like a von miller coming into it that would honestly help that much?

Easily could settle for:

center
guard
corner
defensive end
nose tackle
outside linebacker
safety

OLB, CB and center would be my top priority.

Carter will have a full offseason to improve at ILB. Just adding a fast cover corner and a pass rushing OLB could improve this defense by leaps and bounds.

The offense can make due if we can improve the interior and consider swapping Free and Smith.

No. History has proven that teams that draft for need are never successful. Mortgaging the future for a QB would be purely irresponsible but not out of the question for Jerry. :D

The good news is that his team proved last night that they are not a contender so he can give up this fantasy that he is just a few players away from a championship. He knows his team is still rebuilding and he has a lot of positions to upgrade this off-season.

No. We have way too many holes on this team to throw away an entire draft for 1 player.

If you are Jerruh Jones do u move up in the draft to grab Morris Claiborne to get the best corner in the draft or stay put and get better than average at the position
