Actually, I disagree with the mindset that we are unlikely to get a high number of starters and strong contributors out of this draft class. If we pick at the number four pick then we have no excuse for failing to get 3 starters out of the top 3 picks. They don't all have to start day one, but they should all crack the starting lineup at some point, or we shouldn't be selecting them. Keep in mind guys but that would be 3 picks out of the top 75 picks. Our 4th pick is in the top 100. Let that sink in.
We get 4 picks out of the top 100, and if we trade back at any point in the top 3 rounds, we could easily end up with 5 picks in the top 100. Then we would have several more picks including compensatory picks. We could easily go home from this draft making 10-12 picks, and then we will add another 10 players in the UDFA class.
With that kind of premium draft ammo if we miss horribly, either this is a really horrible draft class overall, or it is on the organization. If we don't get at least 5 guys who start for us (at some point as an NFL quality player), then it is a failure of a draft in my opinion.
