Draft picks look pretty smart so far

I supported the drafting of Frederick though a lot of people panned it. Originally I had mocked us to hopefully get Frederick and Cooper, but given how the draft shook out, I'm glad we got Frederick where we did. The guy is going to be a beast for us for a decade.

Escobar is also going to be a beast for us. He is going to develop into an all round tight end among being a receiving threat. For the first 10 minutes after this pick I didn't like it, but focusing on the 12 formation and how teams have been successful using it, I quickly regarded this as a great pick.

I can't wait until Friday to see Williams. I think the combination of Williams and Frederick is going to really show how smart this draft was compared to drafting Sharrif Floyd, but I don't think anyone would be able to estimate his worth on this defensive line. I think Marinelli knew exactly the type of guys he wanted, and I don't think Floyd was one of them. I can't wait to see what Marinelli could do with a healthy Spencer and Ratliff. Please be excited.

I liked this draft, im not saying much else, let the players now decide how it pans out. If they arent the better player, good for us, means other things are panning out. I love the new coaches, i love the new attitude, and i liked the less stressed Garrett. Lets see how it translate on the field tho.

I wasn't really sure about the draft, but like the fact we took on offensive lineman early. The one thing that had me hopeful was we have drafted a lot better under garrett.

I mean it's still early. Based on last night Frederick looks like a 1st round worthy player and a staple on this OL. Escobar should have done more considering Witten, Dez, Austin, Williams weren't playing. But it's hard to blame him since the QBs were awful. Williams didn't play so there's no grade on him. Most fans were probably a little disappointed with Wilcox. Randle looked good but so did all the RBs. And Holloman surprised for a 6th rounder.

Who is that word coming from? He has a long ways to go before I start forgetting about Robinson. Or Crayton for that matter.

Been hearing the same, Terrence Williams appears is at least a legit #2 that will be playing #3, already ahead of Harris in the regular rotation who had a nice 2012.

It is a little bit early to know whether Harris or Williams plays more this year. They will often get a player reps with the upper units to see how they will perform. Arkin started last night. One cannot assume that because he started last night that it will be automatic that he will be in the starting lineup the first game of the year, but you can't rule it out either. It just means that he got first team reps so that the team could evaluate him there, and that he has a chance of starting there (not taking into account the relative health of other players at his position).

People are probably referring to Romo supposedly saying this is the most talented group of weapons he's had in maybe his whole career.

Top to bottom it probably is. I'm not sure that Coale or Beasley can be lumped into that argument, but I think the first four players could support that assertion.

i thought it was interesting keeping a extra te and not keeping sims. i believe he was referring to potential with williams, not what he is today. he has the potential to be the best 3rd we've had with romo but he is probably another season or two away from reaching that potential. and by then i don't think he will be the 3rd wr

I haven't kept up with much this off season but it surprises the hell out of me when i read Williams might be the #2-3 wr on our team. I thought Harris was great last year he makes plays out of nothing. I guess this is a good problem to have..

I thought we would see a lot more out of Escobar than we did, but I was still impressed with Wilcox. The rookie is always around the ball and only going to get better. Didn't have high expectations for him in this rookies debut preseason game. But come mid season I think the light will come on and both Escobar and Wilcox will be seeing more time on the field.

Limited Concerns:
Williams wasn't on the field. It took Dez 3yrs to find his grove and Williams needs to get on the field you cant learn the game from the bench/sidelines.
Matt Johnson: flashed his skills and showed potential but again you cant make plays from the sideline....the guys is Fragile

Upside:
Ben Bass is gonna be awesome love his motor
Selivie showed up and made a name for himself. Lets just hope this translates from preseason games to playing with the against the real 1st team offenses.
Really impressed with Tanner, and Randle both ran hard. Really liked Randle can find the holes and accelerates through it....might challenge Murray for playing time.

I think our safety play is going to be good enough from an athleticism standpoint which hasn't been the case in some time. The question I have is will they make the right mental decisions and will the game come to them fast enough that they can play fast and still be in position.
