="darthseinfeld, post: 7293676, member: 18081"]- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction? WHY?

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher? Edge Rusher

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range? around pick 70

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction? I would not like it.

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? Malik McDowell

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas? Kittle

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? BPA at a position of need so 75/25

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up? Initial reaction is excitement. The best part of the draft is the wheeling and dealing.

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers? Hooker, Adams and Allen around pick 22 I start working phones.

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction? Thrilled.

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as? I think he is somewhere in the 4th to 5th range.

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets? Most likely some players that are not even on my radar.

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft? I expect a starting CB and Safety and a DE that plays significant time.

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? Depends on who the other picks are. If we get a starting Safety, CB and rotational DE and draft Samuel too, I am thrilled. If we draft him at the expense of other positions, I am not. I find myself drafting him on mock sites in the 2nd sometimes but still manage to fill the 3 big needs.

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction? too high, not a bad player, but unless I see something else, not worth #28 (perhaps if they trade back a bit)

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher? Edge, but ask this prior to our 2nd pick and it would be CB by leaps and bounds

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range? IMO, very late 3rd (since there are so many extra comp picks in the 3rd or in the mid-4th - my spreadsheet has him at #104

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction? Why did he fall to that? I have him in mid 1st

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? Not sure if it is much of a surprise, but I can see Cam Robinson waiting until mid-2nd to hear his name; others: Kizer (and I am an ND fanatic), Peppers

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas? define attainable? I don't think Howard or Njuko are there with our #28 pick, but I would be REALLY happy with either; Engram shouldn't go in the first and should be gone before Dallas picks in the 2nd; after that, it is a crap-shoot...if Butt falls, then I could see him with the Cowboys 3nd pick depending on their first two of course

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? It should be driven by BPA, period; they have filled in holes pretty well so far so go and get BPA and see where things falls when #28 comes up

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up? Njuko, Njuko, Njuko

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers? none of the above, unless they are using the comp picks from 2018 to make a trade up

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction? I would like it, not sure if I would love it just yet...I think the guys will be a really nice player; my reaction would be based on who remained at that time

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as? A Bucknell guy? hmmm, I see him a little after Westbrook above (4th rounder), I have him as the 9th best OT on my spreadsheet; #125 overall

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets? of course, this would depend on their other picks, but I can see another CB taken since we had success last year with that and other teams seems to find late DB's (see: Seattle)

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft? 2, maybe 3....a CB and possibly a safety; I see them drafting an edge rusher, but will they be considered a starter???

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? depends on that first pick; for example, if they drafted a TE with the first pick, I would be po's with a WR; but, assuming defense with their first pick, getting Samuel at 60 is a steal...I see him going much earlier (have him at #41)

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction?

Wouldn't be mad at all. Prefer Watt more, but he is a good runner up.

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher?

Corner.

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range?

In the toilet. Probably more than people already suspect. I have learned never to underestimate how offending scouts and talent evaluators goes in the draft process. He basically did nothing to ease character concerns and actually made some more while he was at it. Ceiling is the 4th round, floor is the 6th. I would not be completely shocked if he goes undrafted.

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction?

Amazement since I would not expect him to be there and it would also break character for how we draft. We do not draft first round picks without a starting job waiting on them.

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first?

If you are talking how most see it, Dalvin Cook. Malik McDowell and Zach Cunningham too, but I don't think most have them as sure fire 1st rounders.

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas?

They are all "attainable". Just depends on when Dallas is willing to pull the trigger. Best fit is Jake Butt. A lot like Witten and injury rehab would eliminate the pressure to play him immediately. Second choice is Shaheen, but they would have to take him much higher than they would like. If they want to replicate the failed Escobar experience, they could take Bucky Hodges. I don't see him as being as lousy as Escobar, but he will need the blocking refinement for sure. I think we are almost certain to take a TE, despite what everyone believes.

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need?

Depends on how the board is constructed. If it is a short board driven by need, that already limits the process. The board if done right is the best route to follow, but again, it needs to be built the right way. There has to be variety and an honest evaluation of all the talent possible, tailored into a logical ranking that fits what we want from every position on the football team. If the board is constructed only of DBs and DLs and ignores other areas, then need is already driving the process.

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up?

Initial anger. This is not the draft to move up in. This is the draft to be patient.

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers?

None really.

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction?

It would be a fascinating pick. I would endorse it even though I am skeptical simply because I like the player's makeup.

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as?

Late third, at worst high fourth even though that is a little ambitious for him really. Will be the last of the tackles when there is a run on them. The supply is so short, I am betting a panic run at the end of the third round.

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets?

Jalen Myrick, Tanner Vallejo, Ben Gadeon, Fred Ross. Can almost bet on a defensive Big 10 player or two.

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft?

Two.

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction?

I would not be that excited, more concerned. This staff had better be able to figure out how that Dunbar role really makes a difference.

Great questions, darth.

I think Davis would pass Williams within a week of camp. If we draft Davis, Williams likely moves into Butlers role with Butler fighting Lucky and maybe Andy Jones for that last spot.

Just don't see that happening. Williams is a made man, especially coming back on a loyalty deal of sorts.

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction?
Not happy but not livid either. That would be a wait and see with fingers crossed pick

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher?
Edge

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range?
Late 3rd-mid 4th...pure guess tho

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction?
Can't get mad at BPA
- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first?
A skill position player...M.Williams/Davis/Dalvin Cook

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas?
Kittle
- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need?
At least 1st 2 rounds have to be by the board. Obviously lean towards D if players are ranked similarly

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up?
Barnett would probably be the only player that wouldn't completely piss me off

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers?
Wouldn't hate using a 2018 pick to move up in the 3rd for a pass rusher like Derek Rivets if we don't address the position in rounds 1 or 2.

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction?
Fairly neutral

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as?
Weak OT draft class could push him into the 3rd round range

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets?
No specific names but a blocking TE, a RB and a developmental OT

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft?
2
-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? Don't hate the value but where does he play? Zeke and Cole already do his jobs well

Truthfully his contract is really sub package tier WR. I think if he gets bumped down the chart into Butler he will get more volume then Butler did. You may see more 4 WR packages

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction? I don't know if he fits our defense. I like his athleticism, so there are tools to work with. Cautiously optimistic.

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher? CB

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range? Rd 4.

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction? One of the best picks we could make.

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? McDowell.

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas? George Kittle. Best blocking TE so he steps into a role right away. Good pass catcher so he has a good future. Round 4.

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? Not sure.

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up? Love trading up for the player we want. Instead of waiting for the best of what's left.

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers? Barnett, Hooker, Adams (20+).

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction? Fine with it. He'll be good.

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as? Round 3ish.

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets? No idea.

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft? 2. DE, SS.

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? Love it. I'm all for offense and making it as strong as possible for Dak.

Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction? Surprise, but I trust their recent track record. Think he goes more in the 40-50 range, behind McKinney, Watt and maybe Lawson.

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher? Edge, but very close.

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range? Down the tubes, unless one team really likes him. Off a lot of boards.

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction? Picked the best player available, which is usually something to celebrate.

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? Peppers

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas? Jordan Leggett if he slips to 4th round, but I'm not in the camp that expects a TE unless Howard has a surprising fall to 28.

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? They will stack their board so that it addresses need.

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up? Hope it was a 2018 pick.

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers? Not sure there are any unless a really surprising fall occurs. Hooker if he slipped much more than anticipated. Maybe Barnett, though I don't get the sense they love him.

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction? Trust, but extreme surprise and some disappointment.

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as? Fluid as it will probably depend on when a run on OL occurs. Say late 3 to early 4.

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets? Guys they brought in such as DeCoud, maybe the Grambling WR Williams, maybe a smaller RB such as Cohen or Jones from UTEP, maybe a LB such as Gedeon.

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft? Depends on the positions they pick and how we define a starter. A first round corner might start in nickle packages and surely will play a lot of snaps. Same with a pass rusher. A safety taken in 1-2 might start. I will say 1-2 starters, but think it depends, sadly, on what injuries occur in pre-season.

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? On-board. He could become an extremely useful playmaker and would fill more than one role early. I don't think it's wise to focus solely on one side of the football. That said, I am hoping the best player available is a DB. I expect them to take a pass rusher at 1, and if not, perhaps wait until the middle rounds. But there is a lot of depth in the DB pool, so waiting until round 3 wouldn't preclude them getting a good player.

I just don't see us taking Davis.
I doubt it too. But if they have him rated in the top 10-15 and he is there at 28 they wont hesitate IMO. It all depends on how they rate him if they have someone else higher. I dont think Williams stops them from pulling the trigger if they have great value

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction? Hope is what they think he is.

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher? Edge.

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range? 5-7th lotta baggage and bad interviews

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction? Very Happy because I think is a number 1 receiver in the league. I am not a huge Dez fan

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? Dalvin Cook

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas? Roberts or Shaheen

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? equal

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up? Not good because this is the year to have as many picks as possible between 20-70

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers? Dont want a trade up, there are no guarentees in this draft although Forrest Lamp looks close

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction? Hate it, guys has no position and could easily bust

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as? 3rd, terrible OL draft and he looks to have upside

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets? Cannon, DeCoud, small school DTs, Hill UTEP, small school DBs

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft? two but they need three

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction? Great from a talent stand point, bad from a usage sandpoint

- Cowboys pick Tyus Bowser at 28. Whats your reaction?
They must see something in him that they like better than the other edge rushers left in the first 60 picks and feel good about 2nd-3rd rd CBs. Hopefully they made the right decision.

- What position has more players come off the board before the Cowboys pick: Cornerback or Edge Rusher?
Edge

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range?
Late 3rd at the earliest.

-Cowboys pick Cory Davis at 28. Whats your reaction?
Bye Bye, Bryce "Butter Fingers" Butler. He's the only offensive player I wouldn't get upset about drafting at 28.

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first?
Ross

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas?
Meh...no comment.

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need?
Like someone said earlier, 75/25 BPA/Need

- A trade in between picks 22 and 25 is announced and Dallas is on the board. What is you initial reaction without knowing who we are taking and what we gave up?
Probably won't be too much surprise who we'll be taking because it will probably be a falling player. We probably gave us this year's 3rd or next year's 2nd.

- What players in what pick range would you consider making trade up offers?
Barnett after pick 20.

- Cowboys pick Jabrill Peppers at 28. What's your reaction?
Wouldn't hate it, but there's a list of players I'd rather have. I think he'll be in the league making plays for a long time. He's does his best work near the line of scrimmage, shutting down outside plays and blitzing the QB. He could be a nightmare for OC's to account for. If Jaylon can make it on the field, that would make three players (Lee, Smith and Peppers) that will continually sniff out/shut-down any run/short pass play.

- Julia'n Davenport: What do you see his pick range as?
Don't know.

- Looking at their recent draft history, who do you see as some of the Cowboys late round targets?
DB, OL, RB, QB

- How many year 1 starters do you expect from this draft?
3

-Cowboys pick Curtis Samuel at 60. Whats your reaction?[/QUOTE]
Good value for the guy, but I don't think we'd fully utilize him enough to justify the price. Overall, I see him much like Njoku...a very talented guy that is going to make an impact if he lands on the right team (i.e. not ours).

- Dede Westbrook, where is his stock range?
In the dumpster because he's a punk, probably 6-7 to UDFA

- Who is this years surprise player to fall out of the first? Zach Cunningham, been a first rounder since mocks came out for this class

- What attainable TE is the best fit for Dallas?
Eric Saubert or Michael Roberts

- How much should Dallas's picks be driven by there board, and how much should be driven by need? Board 100%, drafting for need gets you scrubs like Brandon Williams in round 2.
